Actually, I do. I know of a guy who's being taken for 1.4 million because he filed a form late. This form has no additional information that what he already sent them previously. Why did they do it? Because they wanted to squeeze him for moving his business outside of America.

If any of you ever hear me talk like that to an American combat veteran, punch me in the face, because I'll deserve it.

So you want the IRS to get rid of a bunch more tax breaks for US companies, forcing them to move more stuff overseas. Sound logic.

Between 1990 and 2015, raising the minimum wage by $1 in each state might have saved more than 27,000 lives, according to a report published this week in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health. An increase of $2 in each state's minimum wage could have prevented more than 57,000 suicides...

Do you want to argue it again? We can I guess.

Actually, I’d prefer not to argue.
I just thought it was an interesting correlation.
If it might prompt civil dialogue, that’s cool, but no arguing please. I’m too tired. Not used to so many Caribou Lous on a school night.

It's an interesting study for sure and seems to be the third recent study to show similar results. Few things are as stressful as money and not having enough to pay for your life.

Yeah, they mention the higher wages have a greater effect of preventing suicides when times are tough and jobs are harder to find.

So, people with money are happier than people who are poor? Who knew!
I remember working for minimum wage as a host at a restaurant. I was 16.....even when I worked at TJ Maxx over breaks during college I still got paid more than minimum wage.
Hell, they even paid the illegal immigrants working for cash under the table more than minimum wage when I worked at a golf course in Myrtle Beach.
Minimum wage really isn't supposed to be enough money to make someone so happy/secure that they don't have to worry about life's financial burdens.

My point was that weve been over this before multiple times. There is data out there to support the fact that minimum wage increases dont help overall financial health of employees. There are other articles that support your thoughts. Raising minimum wage isnt go to solve any problems until the fantasy of CEOs sharing profit and not raising prices in a corresponding ratio comes true. So, no time soon.

Thanks for this. Methodological disagreements notwithstanding, this is interesting.
