It's not just that it was one bad game. It is that it was a complete no-show in the biggest game of the season. If you can't get your head together for the Sunflower Showdown, this is probably not the venue for you.

Are you saying Stanley or the entire team? Stanley certainly didn't have a great game but I believe you could make an argument that the ENTIRE team was a complete no-show last Saturday.

The entire team crapped the bed, but Stanley was especially bad. If you're going to talk about all-time greats in the program, you have to be a leader who elevates himself and those around him. Stanley looked like a deer in the headlights.

I can't defend his play by any means but I can't say he was the sole reason why they lost. As far as him being an all time great I wouldn't say he is but if you were to judge him just by stats he should be at least considered. That may speak more to the overall lack of success at the QB position in KU history that Carter's numbers are that high.

If you think about it the great KU QB's of the past were mostly running the option. Then you had the Billy Whitemore years followed by the forgettable years of Barmann, Swanson, Brian Luke, etc before Reesing. After Reesing left then you had a revolving door of puke. Throw Carter's numbers in he didn't have that high of a bar, other than Reesing to follow.

When people call Stanley the best QB since Reesing, it's not a statement about Stanley.

I agree totally. One reason I would like to see some game pressure snaps for underclassmen. Maximize the learning.

You'd have to somewhat worry about throwing a young QB with little to no experience to the wolves that are ISU, OSU, & Baylor.

If you bench everyone who sucked against KSU then we will be starting all walk-ons in our next game. You dont bench your average QB for having a below average game behind a below average line against an above average team.

Who would people prefer start over Stanley? He's our best QB.
Should other guys get minutes? Sure. Les feels Stanley should be the starter. Why wouldn't he?

This is the most exciting season in 10 years. Have there been the stinkers of a Coastal and kstate? Sure. But there’s also been Boston College, Texas and Tech games. With a couple of winnable games still out there.

It has been sad in terms of missed opportunities. Pull their heads out vs. Coastal Carolina and Texas, and you have a potential bowl berth. Actually prepare for and show up for KSuck, and you have a season to be proud of. For better or worse, I'm not a fan of high highs and low lows. I like consistency. I recognize that I don't speak for everybody.

We have shown marked improvement across the board. If you got caught up in the hysteria and foolishly thought the team was going to win out and make a bowl game and are now sad then that's on you.

We were a D2 caliber team in a P5 conference prior to this year. Now we have improved into a bottom tier P5 team. That's not fun progress but it is progress. Meanwhile, I have watched more KU football this year than in the last 8 years combined. Bummed we have missed a few chances but I am happy with where they are considering where they were.

I should not have started this thread.

I am biased against males being named Carter or Tanner or Ethan or Sebastian.

I’m okay with this season.

Stanley is our QB. And a good one. That's that.
