NPR is definitely better-packaged, but if you honestly think it is not agenda-driven, you are being fooled as much as the average Fox News junkie.

The agenda is to attract donors. The donors tend to take pride on either thinking their news source is less biased, or have the "liberal elitist" mentality. Thing is, at least one of those groups would not respond well if the network was regularly failing fact-checks. Same can't be said of fox and msnbc viewers.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 12:56 pmNPR is definitely better-packaged, but if you honestly think it is not agenda-driven, you are being fooled as much as the average Fox News junkie.
I don’t disagree with most of that, but you can’t honestly believe that the aging hippies and newly-graduated Ivy League neo-socialists working for NPR don’t have their own phenomenological filter and agenda driving their work.ousdahl wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:06 pm Every now and then NPR will have a comment that sounds like the author has some axe to grind.
But I dunno if that’s quite the same “agenda-driven” tone as Fox News.
also bear in mind, one is nonprofit public radio that funds itself with listener-supported tote bags, and one is a for-profit cable network that funds itself with advertisements for boner pills.
Hey, you sound EXACTLY like the folks at Fox News.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:17 pmI don’t disagree with most of that, but you can’t honestly believe that the aging hippies and newly-graduated Ivy League neo-socialists working for NPR don’t have their own phenomenological filter and agenda driving their work.ousdahl wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:06 pm Every now and then NPR will have a comment that sounds like the author has some axe to grind.

So, acknowledging that every human being on the planet has an inherent bias is, in fact, biased?jeepinjayhawk wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:36 pmHey, you sound EXACTLY like the folks at Fox News.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:17 pmI don’t disagree with most of that, but you can’t honestly believe that the aging hippies and newly-graduated Ivy League neo-socialists working for NPR don’t have their own phenomenological filter and agenda driving their work.ousdahl wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:06 pm Every now and then NPR will have a comment that sounds like the author has some axe to grind.
