Well if preventing loss of life is important, then you must be SO pissed about Dowdy letting toddlers die in cages at the...nm thinking of someone else.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 5:01 pmHey, at least Pompeo got troops in there and prevented loss of life. I don't have a problem with President Trump's border policy because it is an attempt to address laws being broken. It is essentially the fault of the parents who are attempting to circumvent our immigration policy for putting their children in that position. I don't understand the flu reference, so I can't comment.
I agree that a portion of his policy is about addressing laws being broken. But many of the practices that he has enacted (turning people away at legal border crossings) are not and in fact, they are forcing people who are trying to cross legally into situations where they resort to illegal crossings. That is the biggest problem I have with what he is doing down there.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 2:36 pmI don't have a problem with President Trump's border policy because it is an attempt to address laws being broken. I don't understand the legality of what you are describing. You legally immigrate through proper channels, not crossing over fences or across rivers. It happens in an office with paperwork, not outdoors.twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 2:43 pmI agree that a portion of his policy is about addressing laws being broken. What part of "legal border crossings" do you not understand? In many instances these legal border crossings are outdoors, or at least a major portion of the facilities are outdoors. Look up images for San Ysidro or Ambassador Bridge border crossings if you don't believe meHouseDivided wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 2:58 pmI don't understand the legality of what you are describing. I assume there are actual Border Authority offices at these locations where one would go in and officially seek asylum rather than just disappearing into the border town with "good intentions" of taking care of the legalities later on.zsn wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 3:15 pmWhat part of "legal border crossings" do you not understand? Not if you are not allowed access to those offices in violation of international refugee laws.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 2:58 pmI don't understand the legality of what you are describing. Aren't those laws being abused, though, by people claiming to be seeking asylum and then just staying here illegally?twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 3:50 pmNot if you are not allowed access to those offices in violation of international refugee laws.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 2:58 pmI don't understand the legality of what you are describing. Asylum seekers are supposed to be allowed to cross our borders at legal crossing points of entry and then request asylum. We are supposed receive these refugees and refer them to an interview with an asylum officer, who assess their request.
Trump is basically shoving them back to Mexico and encouraging Mexico, a country rife with it's own corruption and mess, to deal with them.
Then spend the "wall" money to create more American jobs by hiring more case workers and asylum officers to better process the requesters.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 3:56 pmAren't those laws being abused, though, by people claiming to be seeking asylum and then just staying here illegally?twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 3:50 pmNot if you are not allowed access to those offices in violation of international refugee laws.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 2:58 pm

How so? I don't think they're popular anymore.jeepinjayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 8:44 pm Trump needs a war, and one way or the other, he is going to get one
