As for the nominations, I’m not surprised by all the Joker nominations but was not a huge fan.

It’s a really fucking weird movie conceptually. Taking a comic book character and making an art movie? So fucking strange.

If pressed:
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Inglorious Basterds
Once Upon a Time
Hateful 8
Django
4 Rooms
I'll just assume you meant to put True Romance at #2.
One of his best, but I hesitate to list it as he didn't direct.

If we are looking at overall contribution or screen play.....Natural Born Killers upsets the order as well.

I enjoyed "Joker," but it was so incredibly dark. I was prepared for dark and it was so much more.

The twist with the imagined girl friend caught me by surprise.

^^^^

I didn't get into either the Irishman or Once Upon a time in Hollywood. Fell asleep to both.

Haven't seen yet, but am looking forward to: Ford vs. Ferrari and 1917

I really enjoyed it the first time.
The 2nd time, which is true of a lot of movies, I picked up nuances that I didn't the first time.

Yes, solid top 5 for me.

Check the Irishman off the list of to watch movies this weekend. Enjoyed it.

Haven't seen Joker yet.

Once upon a time in Hollywood was weird, but not bad, just slow moving until the end. Cool visually. Tarantino is an acquired taste, and I enjoy most everything he has his fingerprints on.

Mrs 99 and I saw 1917 over the weekend. Pretty good movie. I can't believe the living conditions were as good as portrayed in the movie. Sure they showed rats and stuff but it didn't look nearly as bad as I'm sure it was.

And the one dude was incredibly lucky. The other, not so much.

Watched Marriage Story.
Better than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - very different movie than Joker.
Both had poignant things to say about society and both were well acted.

Joker - how we treat the mentally ill.
Marriage Story - how divorce can happen to people who still love each other and how lawyers can come in and make it exponentially worse.
