The ACA certainly can't compare with the Trump/republican repeal and replace plan, that covers everyone, is cheaper, and provides better care.
Nobody knows as much about healthcare
Healthcare professionals are for anything that guarantees them payment - even if it is at the expense of the taxpayer. Not sure that is expertise so much as self-interest.
Stop projecting, Psych.
Not everyone has a gaping maw where their soul should be, just because you do.

Republicans learned nothing from their "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job" moment during hurricane Katrina, but this time they're gambling with the health of millions of Americans should this or the next infectious disease epidemic be particularly virulent.
The fact that it might not happen is hardly an excuse for being totally unprepared.
Seems that Trump's cuts to CDC that no doubt pay for that storm unresistant wall to protect us from viruses have also affected state and local health departments and their ability to be of assistance in case of an epidemic.
At CDC, a reduction of that magnitude equates to a $750 million spending cut over fiscal year 2019. APHA member John Auerbach, MBA, president and CEO of Trust for America’s Health, said the proposed CDC cuts not only threaten federal public health capacity, they would have a “devastating” impact on state and local public health departments, which depend heavily on CDC dollars flowing down to the community level.

Got it.

Right, the system was great before.
I paid $800/month for two separate policies. $400 for one for the rest of the family; and $400 for me -- the high-risk policy, given my pre-existing condition (coverage for which was, in fact, guaranteed in 36 states). $1000 deductible per person or $3000 for the family.
Today, a single ACA policy for all of us would cost in the neighborhood of $2500/month, with a minimum $5000 family deductible.
To avoid that, my wife went back to work, where she could get health coverage. Her share (after the employer pays most of it, natch) is $735/month -- so only $65/month less than it cost us to have TWO plans in 2012.
The first "A" in the "ACA" was...ummm...a lie.

If it hurts your feelings so much to see Donald Trump criticized, maybe you're in the wrong forum?
I'm not worried about him.
I'm worried about you.

Plural of anecdote is not data. I’m sure the millions of people who now have insurance under the ACA are clamoring to give it up, so much so that the party who wanted to repeal it got major electoral gains in 2018 practically begging for repeal.
By your metric the tax act of 2018 has been an unmitigated disaster because my tax liability actually went up. I’m sure you’re working hard for it’s repeal

No. Your tax liability going up was a feature not a bug.

Just as designed.
