And down South we have the Baylor Bears with B12 coach of the year ( even though he didn't win the B12 ) Scott Drew. He's flying high here, at one point was the number 1 team in the nation, but as we know with Scott, he blew it in the clutch. Yet still, a top seed in the South.

If a 16 hadn't beaten a 1 yet, this might have been the time to pick it - but since it's happened, Northern Kentucky probably has little shot.

The 8 is Marquette. Dwayne Wade seems so long ago. Finished 8-10 in the Big East and lost 6 of the last 7. Why are they an 8 here? This has gotta be a mistake of sorts.

Illinois is probably thinking they should be higher than this...or at least higher than Marquette. What in the hell was the KCrim committee on?

We can get to that oddity later - we have the Auburn Tigers out of the SEC who had a great run last season. They don't have the same talent as year prior but Bruce Pearl pays to play.

The Tigers will get, oh yes they made it, UNI, who won the MVC, but didn't win the tournament. Bradley took that. But still a good season, 25-6, and with a dangerous offense. This could be a good first round matchup, maybe a 12 v 5 upset here.

The 4 seed is Maryland. They have a gripe here, with Michigan State a 2, and them a 4. They must be thinking they at least deserved a 3. But there's just so much Big 10 blowjobbing - maybe that's what cost them a better seed.

The Terps will face Akron, which is in Ohio. The Zips went 24-7 and ran away with the MAC East. They held close at Louisville. They aren't total pushovers.

The Ohio State Buckeyes. Please, can we stop saying 'the'. I bet 'the' fans of 'the Ohio State Buckeyes' are wondering why a 6 when other bracketologists had them as high as 4, and Kenpom loved them. Well 10 losses. And probably because Aaron Craft and the stretch in January where they went from no. 2 in the nation to non ranked, going 1-6. You'd also figure that some Big 10 teams have to suffer since they can't meet each other after the first round and there are so many of them.

A tough matchup for them in Eastern Tennessee State. 30-4. Didn't loose a lot. Played KU kind of tight in Allen and have won 12 straight.

The 3 seed is Big East contenders Seton Hall. Went 13-5. Tied for 1st. Had close losses against Michigan State and Oregon and lost a nailbiter that might have won them their league versus Villanova. The Pirates are for real.

They'll have North Texas to deal with. They are Mean and they are Green and finished 1st in the C-USA.

And we're here, the end. Teams like NC State and Utah State and Mississippi State and UCLA have to be nervous.

Th is thread reminds me of 5th grade when I got grounded for two weeks to my room, and I used a National Geographic Our 50 States book to write out a regional basketball league I played through guy b in my nerf hoop.

And it's Utah State. And probably the best of those teams. 26 wins. In a pretty easy conference though. The power 5 conferences won't be pleased here.

Their 7 is Houston who also Kenpom loves. 23-8 out of the American. Could be a good 1st round game there. This also may have been a big mistake by the committee as i'm not sure Houston can even be seeded here because of where the regional is - but shit has hit the fan at this point, so we'll have to deal.

And i'm feeling a little sick in my stomach, not sure why - ah, right, Duke. But not in the East, thankgod. This looks like despite not winning the ACC, they are the highest 2 seed, going against Baylor, but Coach K probably wishes he didn't have to play in the South.

Then there's Eastern Washington. I bet Cascadia picks the upset here.
