Putin chose Mikey thru Manafort. There is a reason Mikey isn’t president already. I am looking at this as a mob president would. But probably essentially correctly.

I'm starting to wonder if in his mind, he thought he could remain president and start his own news corporation/media empire. Because, to your point, he could have easily not continually lied about fraud for months, lost, and simply walked into the sunset with 70+ million rubes, err, voters, each willing to pay him $8.99 monthly to subscribe to his shit show.

I think media was his end game all along.

Yup. He quickly identified his marks and went after them. He just didn't realize the nomination of Hillary (and to a lesser extent, Comey's actions) would push him to a win.

Maybe he, and the majority of Americans, didn’t realize just how popular his brand of bullshit would be among a narrow electoral majority of the country.

But yeah, I think his own end game really might just be attention
