Dude was good enough to start as a freshman, and was always a high major starter unless injured.

And Dok embraced the old school center role. It’s not like he wanted to shoot fadeaways and mid range jumpers

I have no issue with Dave's 15-footers so long as we've tried to move the ball around a bit first.

The only issue I might have is one of analytics. Crunch the numbers and decide if that’s really worth shooting, cuz it’s otherwise the worst shot in hoops.
But yeah, ideally we bring more of an offense than standing around waiting til late in the clock for our center to shoot midrange jumpers.

Dave is probably the least of our worries next season.
I don't think that he was ever the best big in the country nor will he ever be because he's still just such a spaz.
He would be so great and beloved if he was a 2nd or 3rd option on any given night. We have also just been blessed with so many damn good players to compare him and Marcus to.

Did you even watch the game last night. Because you are being so unfair to Big Dave. Last nights debacle was so much more than one guy missing shots.

Yes. You want Dave to be the guy the opposing coach goes "that too???" when he kills you for covering shooters.
In other words, the guy you can't gameplan for, because you have other shit to worry about.

Yeah. Another year of improvement and we will see. Dave is a hard worker that continues to improve. hes gotta be a preaseason candidate for big 12 player of the year

Thinking about Dave’s game, doesn’t it seem like the ball stops with him a lot?
If he gets it in the post, he’s gonna collect and assess, which give the d time to square up and maybe even double.
Contrast that with Dok, who would often pin the D and be making a move to the hoop before he even caught the ball, and often score in rhythm, within a second or less of being fed.
Now I know Dok is physically superior to Dave, but I think it’s also very much a footwork thing, and I dunno what’s preventing Dave from improving that.
Doke was a black hole, until he wasn't. And then he was the best big in the country.
AND it also correlated to having elite guard play.

jfc...Curry looks like a load
whoever compared him to Vital, let’s hope...
nah, Vital is fat.
Curry looks jacked.
Don't want to burst any bubbles, but he's got a lot of work to do in that area. I like that he should be good for us on the boards and defense. Much bigger presence than Mitch or Gethro. Maybe a shorter/less athletic Cliff Alexander?

Rico Gathers is probably a better comparison.
Vital looks like Khalid El-Amin and Oliver Miller made a baby.
