Plus, name one other medical career that lets you wear leather chaps and a gimp mask to work.

Very true. Not like a heart or brain surgeon (c'mon, it's not brain surgery, it's a rectum).

Wait... Some people get colonoscopies with local anesthesia? Yikes. I got general. While thing was nbd. Just drinking the gross stuff sucked, but in a first-world-problems kind of way.

There were 3 or 4 people in the room when I had mine done. Not much of a worry.
You're going to be pleasantly doped up. Shit like that won't even cross your mind.

6:30 am is a good thing. Get it done early in the day, eat breakfast and take a nap. And you don't have to sit around and think about it all day.

True, but I have to take the final laxative between 11-12 pm. Don't see myself getting much sleep. I might just make it an all nighter.

I've had two of these. Didn't sleep the night before either time.

I am against these. It restricts my freedom and they insert magnets in your butt to track your scat. The term lab leak originally had barium connotations.

Are you getting general or local anesthesia? If it's the former I wouldn't be too worried about lack of sleep.

I think general, but not sure the difference. It's probably been 20 years since I've had any type of surgery and I'm guessing that's general (completely knocks you out?).

You getting this done at a hospital or clinic.
Here the hospital I went to used propofol and I was out just for the duration of the procedure. Then up and around with no lasting effects.

The first time I had it done was at a clinic. They called it conscious sedation. I was out for that but was told that I could respond to commands and questions. GOK what I said. I was wiped out for the rest of the day and took a lot of long naps. Missed a Jayhawks game in the process.

At Mid-America Surgery Institute, I think around 119th and Nall.

And yes, I'm taking the entire day off.
