Gee, you might think caring would be a requirement to be on the team.
After watching this season's NBA playoffs I have to question why any of these players would want to risk injury if they don't really care about representing their country and winning a Gold Medal.
Granted, these exhibition games are basically meaningless but....... I'm wondering if the outcomes would have been the same if these games were qualifiers.

I didn't watch but I can guarantee you if you let these guys play in 10-15 more games together, they'd look worlds better.
Sure. As would any team. But it's not as if these guys are complete strangers.

I don't think this collection of players have ever played together.
I'd take Tatum's word:

"None of us have ever played with each other, we're just trying to figure it out," said Jayson Tatum. I think Tatum may have been the only player to play in the 2019 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Australia's World Cup 2019 team is largely made up of the players they lost to this week.

It doesn't take a moron like me to point out that pdub is right - and we have players who are playing an unfamiliar brand of basketball with different types of officiating than they are used to.
So..... At what point (if ever) do we decide excuses are no longer valid?

I always get a kick out of this. Forget the written message.
Just enjoy the video. Mmmm Wendy's.

This is what Doncic meant when he said it is easier for him to score in the NBA than it was over seas.

So one of our starting five, Beal won't be going to Tokyo because he wasnt vaccinated.

That's a pretty big loss.

They should replace him with Russ.

We wouldn't have lost either of those games with Westbrook because he'd have ball hogged his way to 20 rebs and 20 ast simply because he tries hard.

Get rid of the lazy vets who don't want to play hard. Send some young guns who actually fit together like a real team instead of a bunch of option 1s standing around looking at each other wondering how to play team basketball....which is ironic to say after suggesting Russ replace Beal, but he does actually make the ball move (even if it's occasionally a head scratching turnover). Tell Russ what the records ade for rebounds and assists in the Olympics and maybe he won't take a single deep 2pt jumper because he will be too busy chasing stats 🤣.

I'd take Devonte Graham over Russ.

Sad thing, Devonte probably too much to lose injury wise by playing in something like the olympics right now.

Other sad thing, he's the 3rd best guard on his own team....so if they went that way (with a young gun) we'd get Lamelo (and lots of Lavar).

Sparko - 10 or 1, depending on the angle.

Pretty sure that is just an honest assessment. And it's not really a knock. Those 3 are a really good trio of guards.
