Yup. And they make sure every single series goes 7 games. Never seen a series finish in 4 5 or 6 games.

Why didn't they see the $$$ in forcing some game 7s for MJ? He was so good he probably just overcame the game rigging.

The Western Conference Finals have gone to 7 games 10 times in the last 50 years. The East, 15 times.

So 150 instances of conference and NBA Finals and just 34 of them went to 7 games. You'd think that if those evil wealthy NBA owners were colluding with the refs to send everything to 7 games, an act that if discovered would no doubt result in them losing their team, that they'd get it done more than the 22% of the time that it actually happens.

For what little it’s worth, 4 of those times were in the last 15 years, with this year still TBD.

So in other words, game 7 went from a once every 7 or so years kinda thing, to a once every 3 or so years kinda thing.

That might be cherry picking tho, so like I said, for what little it’s worth.

But also for what little it’s worth, at least one other major sports league in the last 15 years has argued in court that they aren’t sports, but sports entertainment, for which “storylines” are more important than objective victors

Elam Ending rules. That’s what basketball needs to change.

The Elam Ending is an absolute electric factory. Shot clock, halves/quarters, three point line, charge circle. All those things can be debated for each level/league, but the Elam Ending is what needs to be universal.
