The mainstream media hardly even covers college basketball until March other than the next great NBA prospects who get play on ESPN talk shows (thinking trae / zion / etc). The "face" on game ads for ESPN could be as simple as the leading scorer. And your guess is as good as mine when it comes to who that'll be.

This isn't entirely true.
For example:
ESPN's Big Monday will feature graphics for the matchup and very often includes a player from each team.

It's not always the leading scorer. Last season it was very often Garrett. And if I had to pick, Garrett was the face of the team last year whether justified or not.

And now they will have to worry about blurring out Mitch's 1-800-GOT-JUNK headband.

Devonte Graham.
Frank Mason.
Perry Ellis.
Andrew Wiggins.
Thomas Robinson.
Marcus Morris.
Sherron Collins.
OK? Those were all great KU players but I never got the feeling that they were the single face of the program in their best year. Frank in his senior season was maybe the closest I have seen but even then we had Josh Jackson and Devonte playing great.

Honestly, all of these companies have graphic designers putting together their graphics and I think they choose who to use based on what pictures they have of a good player for that team that fits the size and color scheme they are going for in the graphic.

You are looking at it from a KU fan that posts on a KU site.

I'm more asking who does BWW Chad think of when someone mentions KU.

Those years, hed have mentioned those guys. For certain.
The face of the program.

I suppose so. It's hard for me to think of KU hoops through a casual user's eyes so who knows. If I had to be on it this year I'd say it will be DMac or Remy.

But our guys have won.
Zona State was 11-14 last year.
And Remy took over 14 shots a game.

Closest to that on our team was Ochai at over 11 a game.
And Remy had that result playing alongside a first round draft pick, which he likely will not have this year.

I am not sure what overall point you are trying to make, so not arguing that. Just going to point out that I think Josh Christopher only played a few games for ASU last season.

Who played in just 15 games on the season due to injury, two of which Martin did not play in due to injury.

Oh, I see, didn't realize that.
I think my overall point is tempering expectations of Remy. His team was ranked preseason, and they sucked horribly. And at least the little that I watched, Remy was a big part of that, taking terrible shots at clutch moments.

I hope the change of scenery and better teammates is what he needed.

No one should just be expecting a 1st team AA type season, but I do think he has shown the ability and mentality to fill a role that no player on last year's squad was capable of filling. And was the best transfer available to fill that role.

Haha, no idea.

But, Mitch has kind of turned himself into a mascot. Good for him.

I'm not sure Self has ever had a player take as many shots per game as Remy did last season.
So I think the assumption he comes in and is automatically significantly better ( better to the point that he's the face of KU ) than Ochai or DMac, who have played for a winning team in the Big 12 for 3 years, is not a good one.

He should be good.
I'm not expecting him to be that much better ( if at all ) than the other two starting seniors on the team.

Do we think DMac or Ochai's numbers go down?
I don't.
I think DMac is around 14.5 PPG, 7 RPG.
And I think Ochai is around 15.

We think Remy will score 16+?

I think our 4 best players will be people on the team from last year.

Och and Jalen will be our 2 best players.

Wow.
I think the transfers will be very good don't get me wrong....but history says give guys like Och CB Jalen and DMac 3 or 4 years with Self and Co.'s coaching/familiarity with the system/familiarity with each other and they have a leg up. We've seen it too many times, and more times than not by Junior and Senior seasons Self has these guys performing at elite levels... Those 4 guys have meaningful experience at Kansas in their roles (sorry, ASU ain't Kansas and it ain't close see Sam Cunliffe....all of our guys would put up big numbers at a place like ASU). They have much of that experience together. Defense. Scouting/following gameplans. That matters and can't be accounted for during 1 offseason.
