Re: $$$
I think there would have been a key call against the offense forcing a fourth down OPI call reversing a TD. I mean it was clear when the ref had to run around the holding call on the reverse that this is $$$holidaysmore wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 2:28 pmWithout a QUESTION it was stopped. They should have blown the whistle, turnover on downs and its Ku ball. From there who knows but the refs blew that call.
Re: $$$
What bothers me so much more about the 4th down call more than any other bad call, like the blown holding call, was the layers to it.
They had to:
1. Not call his forward progress stopped, when it clearly was.
2. The offense can not advance a fumble on 4th down. The qb clearly stripped the ball from the rb a la Lawrence Taylor, so the Refs clearly got that part wrong too.
3. If it was a handoff it was clearly handed forward, his forward progress had him right at the LOS if not barely past it. If you cross the LOS you can no longer hand it off forward.
4. They reviewed it and still got it wrong.
They had to get it wrong so many times on that play.

Conference released this.
So incredibly false on multiple things.

They wouldn't release a statement that quickly unless they knew they'd fucked up.
More evidence that this was about $. Gotta get out front and protect OU to preserve their spot in the playoff.

Jesse Newell was the pool reporter who was going to ask. Jesse would go pretty in depth about it. They canceled that.

The big12 deserves everything bad that happens to them. Poorly run for years.

Right.
Don't lose sight of the fact that the weird looking fumble should not have mattered if the play had been called correctly in the first place.

Re: $$$
I think they blew that call 3 times over.
1. Forward progress was stopped.
2. It was a fumble not a handoff
3. Rb was slightly beyond LOS before the fumble that was erroneously ruled a "forward handoff".
Even if you claimed, incorrectly, that those are subjective (they weren't) that means there were 8 outcomes possible. [2 to the third power]. In 7 out of 8 scenarios KU has the ball first and 10 at midfield. Only one scenario gives the ball to OU. (And that's assuming they were 50/50 calls which they weren't)
Ku got screwed 3 times over to award OU.

Re: $$$
I think about the HUGE deal that was made when Svi traveled on his way to the game winner against kstate a few years back.
The equivalent situation would be if before Svi traveled, he also stepped out of bounds, AND committed an obvious charge at the same time.
Sometimes refs get calls wrong, but not 3 times over. Really 6 times over since it was reviewed.

You had me at 'forward progress was stopped'. Hard to say forward progress was still happening when Miller pushed him at least 2 YARDS backwards. Such a horrible sequence of events.PhDhawk wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 4:34 pm I think they blew that call 3 times over.

I can't watch anymore replays of that play. Makes me more and more pissed that the refs cheated KU of at least a chance to make something happen. Disgusting how bad they blew that call on so many levels.
I hope that Goff is on the phone with dumbass Bowlsby telling him we are gone as soon as the B10 comes calling.

Re: $$$
Really seemed to me the whole game the ref's were pro OU. Why the Fuck would Big 12 ref's be pro for a team that just shafted you. Oh OU the only team with a shot to represent the Big 12 in CFP.
Stupid Big 12. Typically I do not blame ref's but we got all the bad calls today when it mattered the most. Forget OU I am rooting against them forever and fire Bowlby today. Freaking JOKER!!
