Creighton is scrappy. They seem to rally around injured players. Gutter and Illy are salivating over the negative posting over any loss between now and the elite 8.
They are not a good 3pt shooting team but I expect them to jack up a ton of them.
As usual, probably more than one of them will got off for career highs against us
Their bigs:
Ryan Hawkins is a 6'7" senior forward who leads their team in points and rebounds
Arthur Kaluma is a 6'7" freshman forward who averages 9.9ppg and 5.1rpg
KeyShawn Feazell is a 6'9" senior forward who averages 3.0ppg and 2.3 rpb

That's it for bigs who actually play for them other than a 6'9" Lithuanian freshman who has never played more than 6 mop up minutes in a game all season.

Their guards:
Alex O'Connell is a 6'6" senior shooting guard who started his career at Duke and averages 11.6ppg and shoots 31% from deep.
Trey Alexander, a 6'4" freshman, is normally their backup PG but is starting due to normal starter Ryan Nembhard being out since Feb 23rd with an injury. Alexander has averaged 11.3ppg and 3.6 apg since taking over.
Rati Andronikashvili is a 6'4" freshman shooting guard who averaged just 1.8ppg on 13mpg but who will undoubtedly be forced to play more. He played 20 minutes yesterday but did not score at all. His career high is 8 so he is the most likely candidate for a "where the fuck di that guy come from" game.

So they have a generous 6 players, 3 of whom are freshmen, with Kalkbrenner joining Nembhard and Shereef Mitchell on the injured list.

There is nothing wrong with Och. He was forcing shots early. The lobs settled him down. Lots of teams are setting up deep for blocking layups. Just keep attacking like last night. Wilson is the very best at salvaging bad possessions with junk second or third layups. Metrics have not factored in Globe Trotter Remy. The team was awesome with him in there. That is the best passing I have seen since 08.

Devonte' might want to have a word with you.

But, Remy does see things and a fast-paced game is slow through his eyes. Dajuan also probably sees the same things but Remy both has a little more ability than Dajuan and is way less concerned about the risk/reward calculation.

The no-look bullet pass to the post between two defenders was one of the best I have ever seen. Then there was that bullet quarter court bounce pass through the entire defense. Devonte was great, but Remy when he has that look is the best I have seen in a long time. Magic Johnson used to do that.

I had been disappointed in Remy's passing until last night.

Last night was the best single game of passing by one player that I can remember in college.

Probably going back to magic for all levels of ball, like you said.

His ast/to ratio over the last 4 games is 13/3. 0 TO the last 3 games.

KU KenPom 5

AdjD 25
not too shabby, but i sure wish our D was a bit more staunch
It has been way better than it was, which is why it has jumped 10ish spots.

But, overall, I have to disagree with that takeaway. Our AdjO was around #2 and has fallen--that's a bigger concern for this team. Och's efficiency has dropped off some.
For February and March, we've been top 10-15 adjD.

Aaron Miles and Jacque Vaughn did that stuff weekly.

No.

Big Vaughn fan, and he was great. His entire resume crushes Remy's. But not a single game.

I've never seen a bullet pass like the one Remy made last night.

Are you talking about the weird left handed wraparound-ish pass? I thought I was watching baseball.

They were all 4 worthy of top10 plays.

Not sure why you're always negative toward Remy, but whatever. If you weren't impressed/entertained by him 5 or 6 times last night, you've got a problem.

Dude was a 1 man highlight reel.

Yeah. The one that looked like it curved (the wrong way) around the defender.

And Dave caught and finished it cleanly...which was also impressive.

Yes, I should have mentioned it. Dave's like a WR that drops passes that hit his hands but will make impossible one handed diving grabs in the end zone. Like a Sammy Watkins.

Already down their starting PG, McDermott confirms their starting C is out.

I do not wish that at all. I don't want players to get hurt, but I will take every centimeter given to us.
