man, has it been the winter that just won't quit for anywhere else?
It's been unseasonably chilly here, even by high country standards. As of even last weekend, it was still snowing.
Buuut I think I'm finally ready to declare spring, for two reasons:
1. yesterday it was finally nice enough to ride all the way home from work with my window all the way down without it being uncomfortably cold, and
2. this morning at the diner while enjoying a coffee and reasonable portion of donut, this gal came in wearing short shorts so short that you just don't see that amount of moonrise unless it's spring.
but alas, more snow in the forecast this weekend.
we got snow in the Hills on both saturday and sunday...after 70s in the early part of the week. made for a good excuse to go caving

Heavy, heavy rains headed to the DFW today.
Most of our lakes are already well above flood stage.
Crap.
River too fast to tube.
Thats some bullshit.
Ain't I in Texas?
You are in the Hill Country, right?
I was.
It’s a great spot ( sans all the MAGA hats ).
Got to hang in the Guadalupe on our own.

I saw 3 in one day.
2 in one group, 1 in another.
And met a holocaust denier.
Maybe I just got a weird sampling but that's what I experienced.
But yes, the landscape is tops this time of year - greenery abound, river flowing a healthy Fury of the Nile color.
Smoked brisket, sausage, chicken and breakfast tacos.
Managed to get to Austin yesterday for lunch ( Gloria's ) and a walk down Congress/6th to the state house.

Gloria's margaritas....drink 3, and you won't remember the rest of your day.

Had 2.
I think my blood was pure alcohol by that point so I was fine.

Two's too many, three's not enough, is the problem.

Looks like a washout for Memorial Day weekend here in KC....I'm so sick of this crap. So far I haven't got any water in my basement, but feel it's just a matter of time. I mowed my backyard Sunday in standing water..the joy of home ownership.

We are finishing our basement now, and are crossing our fingers that some things we've done to address water getting in will be enough. We're pretty much out of options short of the stuff that costs about as much as a new Kia.
This much is true - if we survive this week, we're good to go.
