We need an Ochai thread. Could owner of this one please rename it?
Dude was composed. That impressed me more than the dunks and the triple. And learned from his mistake. Gave Noi too much space and got burned, never did it again. Communicated switches really well on D, something Grimes doesn't do, and probably was the reason he was in instead of Grimes in the last four minutes.
I think 'Redshirt rules' is fine actually.
I believe though, as a technical matter, it is O'Doyle who rules.

Dedric is better than you expected? Not me. The numbers are about what I expected, but I was hoping for a more dynamic player offensively.
He's a 1st team All American candidate.
He's shooting over 50% from the field.
He may not 'look' good doing it but he's having a better season than your boy Marcus.

Them's some high high expectations.
It is true that expectations were sky-high. That's why 40 isn't an insult. He's an AA candidate, not a lock, and he won't be in POY discussions.

Last night was encouraging, though. I saw a lot more "I can score on anyone give me the damn ball" out of Dedric than I've seen all season. Also hit his 3's, which helps tremendously. And, I'm not sure that he'll face much tougher defenders than Samuel.
Hopefully the Udoka injury lit a fire under his ass.

Evidently, on this front and others, I should actually have watched last night's game.

It was a game of good, bad, ugly. Similar to all season.

So, I'm not sure if the rest of you are being overly harsh on KJ or just not harsh enough on Charlie Moore.
Maybe the reason I'm harder on Moore is that he's getting more than twice the number of minutes.
I mean, I won't argue that Lawson has guard skills but he has a much higher assist rate than Moore.
(Damn, I was just looking at some advanced stats to support my argument, and Grimes numbers are bad....Really hoping that guy has turned the corner.)
6 minute abs in Waco.

Did anyone else hear yesterday when Rich Hollenberg said that Moore might be the best shooter on the team?
In what world? He didn’t come up with that on his own. Is the staff trying new misdirection tactics?

That was likely on the Moore "notecard" from before the season.
I'm sure in practice or when just shooting he's 2nd or 3rd (with Vick and then Dotson or Agbaji)....but in game I'd say he could be 4th 5th or 6th best.
Vick and Dotson for sure. Then Agbaji/Grimes/Dedric....I am unsure where I'd throw him in that 2nd group.
