Why do people say O’rourke’s name incorrectly? Drives me up a wall!
It is not pronounced Baaaytoe! Actually it is behtoe(short e,not long e. If people had any knowledge of Hispanics at all they would know that Beto is just a nickname for “Roberto”. C’mon people!

Unfortunately in much of the country being intelligent and intellectually accomplished is a disqualification, electorally speaking. Media narratives about “candidates being like me”, “elitist” etc don’t help.
