I think Q is doing the exact opposite of choosing to "go where you can grow, learn and be pushed."
well, he certainly is leaving a place where you can grown, learn and be pushed.
I am starting to hope his hardship application is denied and he has to sit out a year.
It's just crazy to me - and not at all inconsistent with the times in which we live - that he thinks he can wear the aggrieved, victim hat here.
He's taking the easy way out. Which, (1) is
fine, we all do it all the time!, and (2) is probably not in his long-term best interests, but that's agency for you. So, also
fine.
But, Christ, just call a spade a spade.

Are the rumors that he did not go to class true? If so, can he get eligible in time for the next semester?
My thought too. He looked disinterested in learning even the game. If he plays PG at Houston, I was not dazzled by his leadership, ball skills or defense, so they get to figure out how to handle his ego.

Every time this thread gets bumped, I keep thinking I'm going to read, "Grimes changes his mind; returns to KU" or something.

I would believe 911 was a joint attack by the US and Mossad before I believe this.

If you can get a degree from UNC without going to class...you can get eligible at Houston

You should not contaminate other threads with other content from other threads. Keep the Grimes thread clean.

That’s fair lob.
No victims.
Even 5 star victims who can’t beat out injured point guards from Texas who cannot shoot from 3/anywhere or 5 star victims who can’t beat out Kansas kids who figured they were redshirting,

Maybe he enrolled for summer classes at NC.

Sounds like you're trying to cover something up. I'm going to get to the bottom of this. Off to youtube for some serious research.

Grimes to UH officially announced by a Houston. Will sit out 19-20 before playing in 20-21.
Peak Malik Newman situation here.

So apparently the hardship waiver is pretty stringent?
Like you legit have to have your mom get cancer or something, then hope she doesn’t get better.

Screw that. If it's true that he left academically ineligible, he should have to sit.
I'd say that should be the only reason a transfer should have to sit.

Have to agree with that. It makes sense, at least.
The current rule sucks, but it was properly applied to Q. There's no hardship there. And, bending the rule will just make it harder to get rid of.

What’s the point of the transfer sit out rule again?

The NCAA says it's "academics."
Supposedly the NCAA has a study that says that only football and basketball players have issues with academics after transferring schools. Of course, that study has never been made public.
The actual reason: there is only a sit-out rule in football and basketball because those are the student-athletes that are assets. Restraining free movement is in the best interests of the $chools.

LOL
I thought it was something to do with players and/or coaches not shopping around for the best rosters every year or something, but for the ncaa that makes perfect sense.
Which is to say, it don’t make sense at all.
