"When the ball is just in the air and you can come away with two points, that’s how we won a lot of games for a lot of years. [Udoka Azubuike], just toss that b**** up there and it’s my guy is better than your guy, catch it and dunk it."

“Guys are afraid to go in there when he’s blocking shots,” Wilson said. “When you’ve got a guy with the wingspan, the height he has and can jump high, it’s going to have guys changing their shots in the paint. He’s definitely a force in there for sure.”

Also, Dok was a historically GREAT college basketball player.

2 years in, Udeh is not even remotely comparable. It's an insult to Dok to compare them or think that Udeh could do what Dok did....maybe Udeh will show something over the next 2 years at TCU, but I'd be shocked if he ends up a college AA and in the NBA.

Huh.
Looks like the post above yours Self compared Udeh to Dok.
Bad timing for you I guess.

"Cool alley-oops".

LOL

And then Self sent Udeh packing...

Self speak? Maybe. That's always your go to when you don't agree with what Self says, so I'll gladly go that route on this one.

Udeh ain't Dok. Not even close.

Udeh is a guy playing 17mpg at TCU averaging 4pts and 5rebs a game.

And Udoka is one of my favorite players to play at KU.
No, a sophomore Udeh wouldn't be Udoka.
But he'd be far, emphasis on far, better than he is at TCU.

I'm on bored with saying Self made a mistake bringing in Hunter.
I'm gathering he expected Udeh would stay.

Udeh would be averaging 22 mpg at KU with 8.5 pts and 6 rebs.
Zuby would be averaging 8 mpg with 4 pts and 3.5 rebs.
And we would be actually protecting the rim ( and hustling ).

AND we'd have Udeh and Zuby for their junior and senior years.

Down year, 5 seed, worst season under Self, but with all the future potential in the world.

I absolutely think he'd have been developed better at KU. Over time.

I do not think, based on last year and this year, that his ceiling was AA and NBA player. He's not very skilled.

I think, even with your lofty improvement expectations, he's a terrible fit with this team that desperately needs offense. He's taking 2 shots per game at TCU. 61% FG. 55% FT.

Which is exactly why Self recruited over him. This roster desperately needs HD. He's the 2nd best offensive big in the country behind Edey.

You're vastly overselling their future potential to downplay the importance of HD because you dislike him.

HD will very likely be here next year, and I'd 100% take 2 years of a 1st team AA 20/10 guy over 3 years of guys who can't even be impact players at TCU and St Johns.

"He's the 2nd best offensive big in the country behind Edey."

DaRon Holmes.
Kalkbrenner.
PJ Hall.
Norchad Omier.

Just like last season you thought that Self wasn't worth a 2 point difference in the game vs Arkansas.

No.
We lost at LEAST 3 more games.
And we're a 9 seed.

Oh boy. Poor Norm.

How many losses worse than the Arkansas loss has Self coached this KU team to this year? 3 or 4?

I think we'd have won the WVU and UCF games if Norm were coaching those games. 🤪

Remember when you said it was Bill Self's fault that we lost because he had a heart attack?
I quoted that one to be sure you wouldn't edit it.

It was absolutely more Bill's fault than Norm's fault.

Self never would have lost to Arkansas, right?

Oh wow, you're still steadfast in the whole it's more Bill Self's fault than Norm's because Bill had a major health issue and couldn't coach. I figured a year later you'd rethink that but no. Amazing.

In 2014/15 we scored 5.5 fewer points per game than this season.
Our highest scorer was Perry Ellis at 13.8 PPG.
Our third was a Wayne Selden who somehow got worse his sophomore season. He shot 38% from the field. He didn't break double digits in PPG.

We were a 2 seed.

There's just no way Self could do it without Hunter.

We've wandered off the path...

Let's get back on track:

HD >>>>> Udeh + Zuby

Real stats (not fantasy land projections):

Player A = 32mpg, 18pts, 11rebs, 2ast, 1blk, 1 stl + really cool celebrations

Player B = 28mpg, 8pts, 9rebs, 1ast, 2blks, 1stl + really cool alley oops

Your real stats / fantasy land projections comment just shows how much a moran you are.
Again, you are completely discounting having the best coach in basketball.
Just like you think it didn't matter that Norm was coaching vs Arkansas.
