I’m not sure why Brad Stevens would take that gig? He’s at the top of the NBA.
Exactly. It's a giant step down....and he's from Indiana. A Butler guy. Indiana hates Kentucky.
What state is Scott Drew from?
Misery.

Why would he want to coach the kentucky wildcats when he could coach the Boston Celtics?
Yeah, I still don't understand why he didn't want to coach the Celtics and agreed to the front office role.
To answer your questions with questions....
Maybe he misses coaching and for some reason doesn't want to coach the Celtics? Again.
Maybe he doesn't need the money, but misses the college coaching world and would find it difficult to turn down let's say 100 million and a new challenge? What some/many might consider the ultimate college gig and challenge.

I think Brad Stevens doesn't like the grind.
His position now doesn't mandate him traveling the United States for 3/4ths of a year.
I think he has two kids in the middle to high school age - likely a factor.

You are, of course, an idiot.

Don't diagnose people from afar, but the arrogance and insecurity to think there is even a
need to tamp down expectations...

My guess is you are correct on all accounts.
That's why I'm not Barnhart, and he is the AD at Kentucky and I am not.
The not so funny thing is my guess is they hire a guy for over 5 million a season and if he does anything less than win a NC in the next 5 seasons, he will get run out of town too.
Just realized, I had a couple of guesses in my post. Typically I am wrong with my guesses. These two I feel good about.

So.... What didn't Kentucky offer him that he gets at BU? Other than lower expectations.

Bill Self is the most overrated coach on this site. Scott Drew is the most underrated.
Something tells me the opposites would be true on a Baylor site.
And?
I'm Barnhart. I'm not hiring Drew. I'm hiring Brad Stevens.
You think he’d even pick up the phone?
Brad Stevens hasn't coached in college in more than 10 years and at all for more than 3 years and has shown zero interest in returning to that job. His name being included in discussions for coaching job openings is just getting weird at this point.

UK probably feeling a little nervous after several of their top choices basically said "no thanks".
I wonder if Bruce Pearl would leave Auburn for UK?

I did a drop in to Rupp and the general feeling is they'll get Hurley or Donovan now.
