Yea, Book just stuck to his role which was mostly knock in corner 3's.
Tatum deserved better but USA won so it's hard to complain.
I'm still a fan of Kerr.

On a team as stacked as the US, it's impossible for someone not to be left out.
Haliburton has as much right to complain as Tatum imo. At least Tatum had KD and LeBron ahead of him, who are both arguably better than him. Haliburton has Jrue and White ahead of him, and he's absolutely better than both of them.

Driving to the basket with unstoppable force is LeBron's specialty.
Midrange to long range jumpers are KD's specialty.
Tatum can do both but not to the degree of either of them.
KD came off the bench for most of the games this tournament - I think Tatum started as many games as he did ( Edwards didn't start a game ). I figured both Tatum and KD couldn't be on the court together. But it was Booker who came out ahead in that 2 spot ( which I called out might happen in April ) over Ant.
As far as Haliburton, he's just not as good a defender as Jrue and White...but he definitely is better than both of them.

I think Tatum is a better player than Durant at this moment so I'd put him at the SF spot.
If you could somehow get Durant and Tatum on the court together, I'd do that, and bench Anthony Edwards ( he's a stud but so is everyone on the roster ).
Lol. That sure didn't age well
Not really a gotchya when I said I think Durant had a better chance at minutes and that I wouldn't be surprised if Booker starts.
( note the post you quoted reads "
I think Tatum is better" not Kerr will play Tatum over KD )
Read up moran:
"One person we ain't mentioning is Booker. I could see him starting over Edwards as well. His metrics also are better than Edwards...Booker is an elite scorer and facilitator. For me, I think Tatum is a better player than Edwards and Durant but I’m guessing he has less a chance to start than either of them bc Durant gets first look at the spot bc he’s a vet and you want a bit more speed at SG."

Looping back to Embiid, he had one really important stretch in the end of the Serbia game - but it's that kind of shit ( taunting the fans after their win ), along with the aforementioned hustle on maybe half the plays, that makes it hard to like him.
I don't think peak AD is as good as peak Embiid but you get more from AD more consistently.
You could see how bad AD wanted gold throughout this tournament.

Embiid enjoys being the villian. He loves the attention.
Tons to like about Embiid. He's undoubtedly a hard worker, as evidenced by how awesome he has become since entering the NBA.
But he's also a flopper and a whiner.
I like him. If he weren't a Jayhawk I probably wouldn't.
