I would agree if it wasnt just different verisons of basically the exact same whiny story over and over again. How many of these stories vary away from "stupid tourist, i hate my job, whine whine, everyone is dumb, im entitled to everything i want, how dumb are they right?....oh yea and this story problem never even happened. Dahar har".

I just get tired of the constant complaining. Seems to exist everywhere way too much these days. People should toughen up a little bit and deal with their own shit without thinking the world owes them.

THAT is why they love it so much. "STOOPID Texans (or Floridians or Kansans or whatever)" is at the heart of their weltanschauung.

This thread is real-life confirmation of the same sentiments they express not just on the politics bored, but throughout this bored as well, e.g. "Olive Garden is for garbage-people;" "'Mericans are too stoopid to care about global warming;" "religious people are dumb;" "cops are racist pricks:' etc.

I give Ousie credit. His version IS more entertaining than the rest. But in the end, it's the same old "look at how much better we are than...them" thread.

Isn't complaining about how certain posters aren't as humble as you and don't understand the blue collar people of the USA like you do kind of saying 'look how much better' you are because you don't say things like that?

Really, you should take a break.

Well, just as your personal experience with the ACA apparently means that despite any evidence to the contrary, "Fucking ACA is/was a disaster", and "broke the system", allow me to discount your statement with a couple of anecdotes:

The parent of Olive Garden is my largest stock holding and after dollar cost averaging into it for the last 7 years, it has tripled, while in addition, averaging a 3% dividend for the last 5 years. I also eat there from time to time, and don't consider myself "garbage people".

I had many, many policepersons and their families, including two successive Chiefs of Police for the largest city in the area as patients, and came to admire them as a group for their work ethic and integrity. So, you never have and you never will see me generalizing about police as alleged in your farcical example.

So, I guess by your metric, what you said is bull.

Does anyone really think that if the majority of the people who ousdahl comes in contact with were from a "liberal" state like California or Oregon, he wouldn't be telling us similar stories about them?

Answer: Me neither.

DC, try to stop taking ousdahl's stories personally, even if/when they do apply.

Defensive much?

Oikophobia runs deep here.

Not that it's unexpected. I mean...this IS the message board for a town that bills itself as "28.7 square miles of sanity surrounded by Kansas."

I'm used to it, of course. But it's still worth noting, on occasion.

I call BS on this. It's common to rant on customers in the service industry. I don't think oussie has brough politics into this. And last I checked, there are liberals in Texas.

I think the moral of the story is if you don't want to read 'Ya'all tourists' and get offended or annoyed then don't open the thread and read it.

It's oussie's blog ( or one of oussie's blogs )!

I get neither offended nor annoyed.

As I say, I'm used to it and it IS more entertaining than the rest.

But I do understand why people might roll their eyes on occasion. I mean it is what it is -- a guy who gets PAID to go fishing bitching about the people who pay him to go fishing.

Did I mention politics?

I'll check the OP, but to the best of my recollection, I mentioned the politics bored, but not politics more generally. If you choose to associate the attitudes expressed in this thread and the others with politics, that's on you.

I used to complain about the customers as well. The classic, egg white omlette, no butter, extra bearnaise.

This thread is on its way to the hall. Lots to discuss but for now I’ll just say, thanks y’all.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna spend the next few hours at the bar. I’m balancing my attention between this game, and this little blonde chick who keeps insisting y’all have the best ranch dressing ever.

If she's that fond of Ranch dressing, it is a fait accompli.
