I generally agree. But I can’t imagine what little the defense put out there might have actually changed anyone’s mind. I feel pretty strongly that if this results in a mistrial, it will because at least one juror was never going to find him guilty, going in.

The Trump strategy divide and get 8.5 percent. Insanity must run at that level.

Today was a good day for Trump’s prosecutors: the jury has requested precisely the evidence that ADA Steinglass told them in his closing to focus on that proves the election law conspiracy:

1. Steinglass referred to the August 2015 meeting at Trump Tower as “really the prism through which you should analyze the evidence in this case,” the “meeting that hatched the election law conspiracy,” and evidence of Trump’s direct involvement in the election conspiracy.

2. Steinglass said of Pecker’s June 2016 call with Trump: “with all of the evidence and documents in this case, it’s easy to lose sight of the significance of this phone call.” Steinglass argued it shows that Trump knew McDougal, discussed purchasing her story, and Trump deputized Cohen to act on his behalf.

3. Steinglass said that when AMI spent $125K to purchase the McDougal life rights to kill her story at Trump’s request to help his candidacy, it made a campaign contribution. “And Pecker told you exactly that.” “Corporations are not allowed to donate to candidates. Period.”

What always makes me laugh, looking back, is that Stormy Daniel's telling the world about banging Trump probably wouldn't have even hurt his chances of winning.

Oops.

I'm stunned that Trump and his team didn't get dark/dirty to buy one of the jurors.

And this was the weakest of the cases against Trump. Makes you angry at the thumbs on the scale in those other cases.

Overturning a jury verdict is a tall, tall task.

What you're going to hear from the right is bad-faith, ignorant bleating over the notion that the jury was not required to be unanimous on which crime the business records were falsified to cover up.

While this is somewhat confusing, do NOT buy into the nonsense that "he wasn't even told what he was charged with."
