I strongly think Jalen will play in the NBA.
Just not after this season.
I hope this is true, because it will have meant good things for him (and, by extension, us).

But man it's just not that easy to find guys with his physical traits and tools that make it.

Yea. Jalen draft chances hinge more on skillset than raw athletic potential.

He needs to show handles, jumper, intangibles to make up for the fact he can barely jump over his own shoelace.

Any stat alone is meaningless, especially for a single game. +/- is no different.

But it does capture a lot of important things that go into winning and losing when looking at it over the course of many games for players that are getting significant minutes. Of course there's going to be scenarios where one guy primarily only plays when some other guy is also on the court. Every stat on its own has equally faulty characteristics.

What's happening here is there was the notion that +/- is the most important stat because, well, that's how you win. And the rightful takedown of that idea went too far to the point that people just throw it out as entirely meaningless.

It's not meaningless.
But if we were gonna put it on a scale of meaning, it'd be as meaningful as Tyon Grant-Foster.

I was thinking about that dude the other day.

Physically and athletically he seems very similar to KJ

But one gets it, can stay in position for D and boreds; and the other one couldn’t get off the bench despite all the dog shit performances last year

I know that sounds ridiculous - maybe someone else can describe it better than I can.
I'm Friday burnt out.
He's a guy who just always seems to be in the right place at the right time. But I think what got him in the low efficiency realm was thinking he was the 1st or 2nd option, when he's best at being the 4th or 5th option and getting most of his points off offensive rebounds, in transition, off broken plays, etc. (He could be the 5th option and have the 2nd or 3rd most points for example)

Does anyone remember Richard Dumas? He played for the Suns in the early 90s for a year or two, before drugs shortened his career, but anyway, the Suns didn't have a single play that was run for him in all their plays, and he averaged about 15 ppg for them. That's kinda what Jalen is. You don't want to NEED him to score, and that's when he's most effective at scoring.
The only dumas we know around here is you phd

KJ attempts 6.4 shots per 40. TGF was at 15.4. If TGF could have used his athleticism to help the team instead of to get his, he could have earned way more minutes.

Yea. Maybe.

Both listed 6’7” even tho they’re both closer to like 6’4, but with wingspan

And TGIF had the shoulders but not the mass.

And TGIF never more than a juco scoring wing mentality, versus KJ looking much better fit as a utility tweener

KJ isn't 6'4.

Are you doing okay?

I think KJ is 6'6".

TGF probably 6'4" or 6'5".

Or maybe it was just another idiotic thing to say?

It's the most bizzare thing to witness. You don't watch about half the games and you cheer against about half our rotation players. Why?

Damn illy.

I’m not cheering against any of our players. I just pointed out maybe some aren’t as tall as advertised, my boy QrimsonNBlue seconded, and you don’t touch him but call me out based on some extreme take.

For being the new poster around here, I sure did move into some of your guy’s heads awful quick.

CnB actually watches the games
and engages in meaningful basketball discussion. You just dish out sneak diss bullshit and ridiculous statements disguised as questions to support whatever your hot take narrative of the day is.

Just keep your bizarre shtick to the poli board.

Don't do it with our basketball team.

We are top 5 in the country with 2 losses. Stop pretending the sky is falling. You're just salty that nearly every prediction you've made the last 2 years has been blatantly wrong.
