It depends how many categories you want to have.
Is it just "stars" "role players" and "scrubs"? If so, then he's probably a role player if those are the categories....as would all of our rotation players not named Hunter.
I personally probably have 5 categories:
-stars (HD)
-starters (KJ and DH)
-rotation players (Griffen, Zeke, Storr, Bidunga, Coit)
-bench players (Passmore, Clemence)
-practice players (walk ons, etc)
That's how I'd break down this team. Zeke would have been in the starters category prior to the last 2 games.
The term "role player" is hard to agree on definition, so I'll avoid it. Personally, I think "role players" are more applicable (and identifiable) in the NBA due to the rotations that each team plays.

it seems to be randi’s opinion that if you don’t score x points, you have to be a role player
i’m just curious where the cut off is
Where is the cut off for what you will argue? Is there one? Will you argue anything? I know some of you will
Dajuan was a 5 ppg guy. His job was to not turn it over and play defense. We all know he was a role player
i didn’t argue one way or the other…just observing and commenting
you seem overly obsessed with scoring. it’s fine. you do you

"He's practiced the last two days and looked good," Self said. "I don't know what his availability will be Saturday, yet, but I'm hopeful that he could be available to us. But still, putting a guy out there who basically hasn't played in eight weeks against a really good team like North Carolina State. I don't know if that's the direction that we positively want to go, but he's trending in a way that hopefully he's going to be with us and be full speed real soon."
"I'm not worried about [specific minutes] with him," Self said. "Right now, we just want to get him practice minutes. To me, having him healthy for five days in a row, or nine out of 10 days where he doesn't get sore, is more important than actually getting him into a game. And trust me, we're not going to play him just to get him in a game right now."

Thanks.
He's not lighting the world on fire there either.

Not a single player projected to be drafted. We may end up being a great team, but we definitely lack high end talent.

No, no. Of course not. And Tennessee is #1 and they also don't have any players on there.
But, talent matters.

Yup.
Sucks for him. I feel badly that he's never gotten a shot, but he's had years to earn it also, and was unable to beat out the guys ahead of him.
Probably just not a guy that should have ever come to KU if playing big minutes was a priority...but at the same time, he got to be part of a national title run, and those experiences (even from the bench) are priceless.

I am curious to see if Tiller can beat out Bidunga.
