Hmmm. I could be wrong but I believe I mentioned a month or two ago that she was going to be given serious consideration as someone's running mate.

Unfucking believable that Bernie Sanders just may win the nomination.
I'm beginning to think Ronald McDonald might be my write in choice.

Shame we live in a country where people are too dumb to figure out "free" costs a shit ton of money.
Or if they can figure it out, do they just don't care?

Are there really that many voters who ask for or expect “free stuff?”

Cuz it almost seems like there are even more voters who make a boogeyman out of “free stuff.”

Meanwhile, does anyone really get more “free stuff” than corporations and 1 percenters?

I don't think anyone questions the notion that "free stuff" is given unfairly in our society. The breaking point seems to be the notion that someone is going to become POTUS and change the way things are. The 1 percenters are financially responsible for putting our elected officials in office. Favors are owed; strings are pulled, thus the flow of freebies is not going to change direction - at least not because of one man in the White House. It is like I tell my students: the wealthy got that way by figuring out how to NOT pay taxes and NOT give their money to other people. They are not going to just give it away, and if they are forced to do so, those of us who depend on them for employment will suffer greatly as a result. It boils down to a choice between masters - big business or big government. I'm not sure one is better than the other, to be honest.

Let me see if I understand the situation correctly: you teach your students that our lives could be better if the Uber-rich paid into the system and that their problems are because the Uber-rich don’t. Then you come here and spout off that making them pay is a bad idea (SOCIALISM!!!!!!). Then you say something that seems to suggest that you are in favor of feudalism?!?!

I orient them to the reality that life doesn’t conform itself to our individual notions of fairness and that it is foolish to expect government to take care of us.

Sanders may be the nominee and may win it all, but I wish the media would stop advertising him as the "anti-war" candidate, when his voting record is very much the opposite.

I don't think anyone could have predicted that one of Bernie's opponents would post this. Or, that that "someone" would be the other non-democrat pursuing the nomination:

“The Electoral College is DEI for rural white folks.”

But then, if Bloomberg wasn't going to do this, somebody like Trump would - it would be political malpractice not to. And, if indeed Bernie is going to be the nominee, it's better to deal with this sooner, rather than later:

“The Electoral College is DEI for rural white folks.”

The vast majority of folks who come to the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting here in Omaha just come for the handouts. Stand between them and their discount at Nebraska Furniture Mart at your own peril.

We live in a society of extremes, that is the problem. People lack nuance (look around on here and you'll see what I'm getting at).

As a formerly ardent Trump supporter who is experiencing a fair amount of buyer's remorse, I have pondered the same question. Sadly, it doesn't look like the pickin's are going to be any better in 2020.

But you didn't have a better option in 2016. Jill Stein might have been better, but she had no chance. I would have no regret choosing Trump over Clinton, but I agree with you that he hasn't held up his promises very well.
