I think what Bill wants to do is very difficult with the way he's constructed this roster - and so, I expect that over the next 2-3 years we will see a move in one direction or the other.

Either he will make his stuff easier for transfers to grok, or he will focus on getting guys who will be around longer.
That's definitely part of it.

I saw Buzz Williams talking about Purdue the other night. He said during their scout they counted something like 70+ plays Purdue ran in whatever games they were analyzing (assuming it was multiple games, since 70 possessions seems like too much for 1 game).

I am not sure we have 25 different plays we've ran all year.

With modern technology and analytics, doing the same shit over and over becomes very easy for the other team to scout if their coaching staff is even remotely competent.

That's becoming an issue for us.
That's part of it. I think the other issue is when a team takes us out of what we want to do we don't adjust quickly enough. It seems like when we struggle in half court there's too much dribbling or too much standing around. Bodies moving and ball moving we look good. Also not enough driving hard to the basket and putting pressure on the defense.

I'd like 1 more big time front court player for next year as insurance for Bidunga if he can't stay out of foul trouble and/or Tiller if he's injury prone. I'd prefer our 3rd big not be Clemence.

I think Tiller getting here early is huge for his development. Physically and mentally.

I haven't seen any mention of Moore. Was he booted to make room for Tiller?

I think he has 1 more year since he redshirted last year.

Another awful performance from the group of Storr Griffen Coit and Moore.

My goodness. Self has to get better at evaluating transfers. That's half our rotation. They scored 3 entire points. And they do nothing outside of scoring to positively impact the game.

It was 3 on 5 today.

I'm inclined to agree, except that our best player right now is prob Zeke

and second best might be Hunter

and they're both transfers too

Zeke mayo needs to assert himself and make it HIS team. Otherwise the next couple months might not he very fun. He's starting to do this

There is zero reason to continue playing KJ big minutes. It hasn't gone well for 3 straight seasons now. It's just more known and scouted at this point. He's undersized with short arms and zero shooting ability. It's ruining our offense. It was the same problem we had last season, not sure why self is expecting a different result. He did make a comment about not figuring out how to play KJ and hunter together. It's because they don't fit. KJ is unplayable on offense, and hunter is on defense. Teams just put hunter is pick and rolls over and over. And with a little ball movement gets layups, dunks, and free throws over and over. Hunter is too slow.

There is no reason not to play bidunga as much as possible. Let him get minutes until he fouls out

Hitting on 2 of them each year isn't going to be enough. We've had success (KM, Zeke, HD). But plenty of failures too (Timberlake, Storr, Griffen, Moore, Kugel who never even got here).

It's not an evaluation problem. These are good players that have already had high level success. Self has to get better at implementing these transfers. Let them play through some mistakes and take some shots.

Go watch their film from their previous schools. They played with confidence then. They don't at KU. It happens over and over. Self doesn't give these players his trust or a chance to earn it and it kills their confidence, and we get a shitty product

Wisconsin sucked.

Storr got to shoot 14 times a game at Wisconsin. He's getting 7 a game at KU.

17pts on 14 shots a game isn't great. Which is why the NBA said "no thanks".

Or DHs fault. Or KJs fault. Or Hunters fault.

this team doesn't have it. they're soft. Im starting to belive the Michiganders that said Hunter is a cancer.
