Don’t think it’ll get past the senate either way.
I think that's the entire point of the timing of this. Skeptic in me thinks the idea here is to say to Georgians, "look, if we have the Senate in Democrat hands we have the votes to decriminalize weed." The idea being that being pro-weed is stronger than being anti-weed in terms of what will get people to the polls.

I see no other reason to pass this prior to Biden being inaugurated.

I get pretty chatty under the influence of marijuana so it would probably not be wise for me to have top secret security access while also being a recreational marijuana user. I don't really have a problem with this if it is specific to jobs where that level of access are required, which it sounds like is the case.

Dumb or maybe I should say ignorant question time.
I honestly don't know why weed bought in a California dispensary seems to be so much better than weed bought in an Illinois dispensary. I am led to believe that California dispensaries primarily sell weed grown in California and Illinois dispensaries sell weed primary grown in Illinois. If so, why? I assume it has to do with taxation and other factors but what are the "other factors"?

That’s a good question.

Heck, I think the weed I’ve had in CA tends to be better than the weed I’ve had in CO.

Maybe cuz the growers have been doing it for longer and just have the grow process that much more refined?

Maybe a climate thing? But not sure how that matters for indoor grows.

Maybe it’s cuz the weed grows up feeling more square in flyover states compared to west coast buds? That must be it.

That's so dumb. They are basically arbitrarily shrinking their pool of qualified people, and also incentivising the staff to lie.

People also get chatty when drunk, when seeing someone they haven’t seen in awhile, when right after they eat after being really hungry, when seeing their therapist, etc.

Forgetting working for Biden and/or in the White House.....
I don't know, maybe I'm an asshole but if I owned a business I would probably prefer to employ someone who gets high occasionally while NOT at work over someone who comes to work drunk and/or hungover on a daily basis.

I listened to a podcast about the amount of accidents and money lost simply from workers being tired. It’s astonishing.

If a cop sees someone standing on a street or sidewalk smoking weed, then get in a car, and drive away, should the cop pull that person over for driving while "impaired"?

I ask because today was the 3rd time I have witnessed that situation in the last few months and ZERO of the 3 times did the cop do anything.

it would seem, based on other things you've posted about chicago, that the cops there have much more important things to worry about than someone driving while under the influence of weed

that said, yes. cops should also pull people over and ticket them for running/rolling stop signs, changing lanes without signaling, and any number of other "small time" offenses that are ultimately a waste of their time to pursue
