I have a suspicion that people will care.

I don't know that it'll be enough to support an investment in a flagship show. The well is going to be poisoned for a while.

Hopefully they'll go back to it being more character based, I'll give it a chance.

I'll certainly give it a shot when it's on. Why not? I enjoy fantasy based worlds like the one created for GoT. I am always looking for a unique, interesting show to watch.

Viewership grew with every episode. Culminating with 19 million plus viewers for the last episode.

I have a suspicion there will be an audience.

There will be a few whiners who won't watch it due to an adult hissy fit over GoT but it would still draw a more than ample audience to justify th he cost of development.

If the premise of the prequel is to more thoroughly explore the whole Children of the Forest/White Walker/Night King thing...that would be like a documentary delving into the systematic failure of programmers/developers/businesses to plan for Y2K.

The opposite is happening. The legend grows with every passing day. By the time the prequel lands GoT will have surpassed yoga pants as the greatest of all time.

We get HBO for free, otherwise we probably would be choosing between Netflix and HBO.
If the prequel thingy starts while we still have HBO, i'd give it a try.
I wouldn't pay $15 a month though to give it a try.

pdub wrote: Tue May 07, 2019 10:11 am Also just making up some odds on character death:

1/25 The Mountain
1/9 Last Dragon
1/8 Cersei
1/5 Hound
1/3 Grey Worm
1/2 Dany
1/2 Jamie
2/1 Jon
3/1 Tyrion
4/1 Bran
5/1 Arya
8/1 Sansa
Pretty close here sans Last Dragon odds.

Is the GOT prequel dead before ever happening?
