Sandwiches
Re: Sandwiches
I dunno if I remember all of these places.
I do remember a good 2 hours to get a table at Milton’s on a Sunday morning, but at least they had self-serve coffee you could pound while you stood around waiting, right?

Re: Sandwiches
i’ve only been once since they opened and it was quite good
seating/space seems to be the biggest complaint from locals
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Sandwiches
I haven’t been yet.
Re: Sandwiches
Mr. Goodcents was/is a good place to get a sub as well. They seem to have scaled back quite a bit in the KC area, even though I believe they started in KC. I occasionally hit up the one in Prairie Village. The one in Brookside closed years ago.

Re: Sandwiches
I know I am in the minority but I feel a lot of people's opinions regarding Yellow Sub are due more to the fact (ok - opinion) that the majority of Lawrence restaurants blew - than it was it truly "the shit". I'll add that the majority of people who ate Yellow Sub were probably high and/or drunk when they ate it.
But hey, I'll say it again, to each their own.

Re: Sandwiches
When we were high and/or drunk we’d hit up Gumby’s.
Big ass pepperoni and pokey sticks.
Then we’d tip the delivery guy with bong rips.

Re: Sandwiches
I forgot about goodcents. My wife loved it which meant I loved it.
Also liked pepperjax. It was better than the chartreuse caboose.
I only came to kick some ass...

I like Goodcents. In the Midwest, if there's no Jersey Mike's, then it's Goodcents for me.
Ladybird is good. Not a big breakfast food person, though.

The pork tortas at Fernandez Taqueria in Monte Vista CO. The sammich comes on housemade fry bread.
The desert really isn't a place for seafood, but the shrimp tortas at Taqueria y Antojitos Los Lopez in Monte Vista are really good.

Re: Sandwiches
I am always impressed when they get the blocks of meat or cheese out and cut it for your sammich. You know it's fresh and not just pre-packed meat or cheese (i.e. Subway).
Re: Sandwiches
Don't forget the pepperoni rolls.
Also, the crowd advocating for Village Inn and Furs can't be taking any shots at anyone else. Those two places are for old fat people.
Mr. Goodcents was great simply because of the portions per dollar ratio. Pepperjax was also pretty good.
Molly McGee's was one of my favorites before it moved across the street.
Re: Sandwiches
I've had a lot of shitty food in my life, Burrito King might be the absolute worst.
