Och goes NPOY and gets to Final Four with this squad, it very clearly eclipses Frank.

If he leads team to national title he's approaching manning territory.

Sure. A final 4 is better than an elite 8.

Well, Frank Mason and Ochai fan here, but to put one single game as "very clearly eclipsing" still depends on the scenarios.

If we go to the FF without winning the B12, one extra game in the NCAA tournament won't necessarily bridge that gap.

If we go to the FF playing the 16, 9, 12, 11 and loose in a blowout in the semi, I dunno if its very clear. A reminder, we beat the shit out of a top 15 Purdue before our Oregon debacle.

Not Frank's fault Vonte decided not to show up in KC.

I know I'm playing against type here, but: I disagree with this. I think the line you're referring to - the line between the Elite Eight and the Final Four - is very much the thing in this sport. So I don't think you can treat it the same as any other game (and I'm relatively unconcerned with the context of who you have to beat to get there).

That's silly to me if you dont consider opponents when you step back and compare careers.

Beating a top 10 Baylor team twice would be better than beating a hot UAB team who has no business in the E8.

Is it awesome to make the Final Four as Kansas? Oh hell yes. And do I care in the end who we beat to get there? Nope.

But if we are comparing careers and saying one team win will very clearly be the difference, well, no, that needs more thought.

And also, its not THE thing in the sport for me.

For BWW Chad it is.

I'm not saying it's fair. I'm just saying that, fair or unfair, Final Fours are where a pretty hard line is drawn in college basketball.

For many.
Not for me.

A B12 title with hard fought conference wins and a loss in the e8 v a top seed isn't better than a team who is 2nd in the B12 and gets fortunate matchups to win one more game.

I.e. a 34-3 team is better than a 28-9 team if the difference is one NCAA tournament game.

If the NCAA tournament was a different format, then we can talk.

Also, most out there wouldn't agree, but 14 straight conference titles in a top 3 conference and a NCAA title is more of an accomplishment than say 8 conference titles in a top 3 conference and 2 national championships.

I think it matters more when comparing "teams" than it does when comparing individual players. Individual performance and scenario matters much more then.

Love Och, but I'm not sure that's really "keeping pace"

Those assists numbers matter.
