LOL
Do you not feel that employing US workers in an effort to detect and address methane gas leaks from pipes and equipment could help the environment?
Not gonna impact climate change in any measurable (or, frankly, immeasurable) way.
Yet another example of the "if one thing doesn't fix everything then don't do it" mentality.

There is likely no one individual change that would. But there are thousands of changes that, in total, will.

We've done thousands of negative things to get to this point. It will take a thousand positive things to get back.

How bout this: NOTHING is going to do sh*t about it unless and until we're willing to say to the CCP: quit building two new coal-fired power plants every fucking month.

Now, kindly fuck off.

Oh, I certainly agree with you that a change in the behavior of China as it relates to coal power and usage is the #1 thing that has to happen.

Do you feel that Trump withdrawing the US from the Paris Agreement made it easier or harder to have that discussion with China?

Do you feel that that conversation with China would even be considered if Donald Trump was our current or next President?

Do you feel that the US impact on climate change will improve or get worse if Donald Trump is our next President?

DC’s response to climate talk seems to always be “but China”

while there’s some truth there, it’s a weak-ass deflection, and pitiful justification for not doing more

but it’s anti-left/anti-liberal, so…
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I don't think it's weak at all. He is 100% right that China is by far the biggest negative impact to global climate change.

As of July 2022, there were 1,118 coal fired power plants in China, the most in the world. So much more in fact that it is more than the #2-#18 countries India, US, Japan, Indonesia, Russia, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Turkey, Vietnam, Philippines, Chechia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Taiwan, Australia and South Africa COMBINED. The US has 225.

But it doesn't mean that we shouldn't be doing everything we can in our own nation to do what we can. Especially if it can generate some new economies for tens of thousands of decent paying US jobs.

it’s weak because of why he says it. it’s deflection and it’s gross

that they’re the biggest emitter shouldn’t matter one bit as far as what we do on our own soil

if other countries have more mass murderers or rapists, should that impact how we police those things here?

Just because you're into symbolic (but meaningless) self-flagellation doesn't mean the rest of us need to be.

Methane is also a very efficient infrared absorber - about 20-fold. Feedlots are a huge source of atmospheric temperature rise.

Again, if you're into symbolic self-flagellation, you go right ahead. But don't expect the rest of us to de-industrialize to suit you and your awkward peccadillos.

When you screech "OMG! cHiNa!!" all you do is expose yourself either as hopelessly naive or (as I've suggested before) unrepentantly authoritarian. (Or, as is likely the case, both.)

I'd explain to you the nuances of trying to fix a GLOBAL problem without the participation of the single greatest GLOBAL bad actor, but I know you already know better. You can't help yourself, though, and will stomp your feet and scream persistently until the rubes you so detest are finally brought to heel.

It just kills you that some of us reject your Gnostic faith.
