And what has Wiggins done internationally?

From an article..."there is no NBA Hall of Fame. There's a Basketball Hall of Fame that covers pro basketball, college basketball, the Olympics, women's basketball, international basketball ... everything."

He's at 11,519 with a 19.3 average at age 27.

Say he plays until he's 39. That's 12 additional seasons.

If he averages 16 PPG while playing an average of 75 games per season that's an additional 14,400.

14,400 + 11,519 = 25,919. Currently good for 19th all-time.

From a different article...

"Wiggins didn’t play for Canada at last-chance Olympic Qualifying Tournament in the summer of 2016; didn’t play when the national team played World Cup qualifying games in the summer of 2018 and declined the opportunity to play at the World Cup in 2019 in China where finishing first or second among teams from the Americas would have meant an Olympic berth for 2020."

International Screening Committee nominates and selects only International players for the Naismith Hall. Doesn't matter where they played.

Yes. Top 20 in scoring all time would get him in the HOF.

Averaging 75 games per season, until he's 39, with little scoring drop off, seems a bit unrealistic. But not totally impossible. He's definitely durable.

Carmelo Anthony, for instance, is only 38.

Here's hoping that GM's also realize that he makes one of the best Robins in the NBA and he collects 3 or 4 rings.

Also not too unlike Ginobili.

Hardaway was 5x all NBA.

Ginobli was 2x all NBA. 4x NBA Champ.

Wiggins is a 1x all star...largely because of fan voting.
Al Horford and Brad Daugherty made 5 all star games, too.
All NBA and All Star are different.

Horford has made 1 All NBA team.
Both Horford and Hardaway were five time all stars.

It will be nice to get another game tomorrow. Hopefully Wiggins can continue to build on his momentum and have another great game. An offseason with Curry and Thompson working on his three point shot and he could be a perennial all star.

Ok?

I didn't mention all star appearances for Ginobli or Hardaway.

Weird rebuttal to a post referencing their All NBA team appearances to randomly provide all star appearances for 2 other players.

Sorry, I was basing it off of researching Tim Hardaway's accomplishments vs. your post. Some people do that.

You are the one who brought up Hardaway and Ginobli. Not me.

My god.

Hardaway and Wiggins aren't even comparable (at least not at this point). 5x all NBA. And averaged 8assists per game for his career.

Just stop.

Ginobli made some sense, until you factor in the international and Olympic aspect, which Wiggins doesn't have similar accomplishments in. Plus the 4x NBA champ with Spurs dynasty.

I think of him like James Worthy (Their role, not their games). Both were #1 overall picks. Worthy was usually the 3rd best guy (sometimes 2nd) on those Lakers teams and like Wiggins was tasked with guarding the other team's best player. But he's a multi-ring wearing HoFer.

Good comp.

And, I wonder how much of Worthy's UNC days mattered for the hall.

I dunno, but I never remember him being viewed as a bust, or disappointment, or anything other than a real good player.

And Worthy made the HoF despite ending his career at just 32 years old after 12 seasons and just 10 as a starter. Wiggins has currently played 9 seasons, starting every game of his career, and will likely cruise by Worthy in all major statistical categories by the time his career ends.

Let me help some of you out. Worthy was a 7 time all-star. Worthy was a Finals MVP. Worthy was an NCAA Champion. Worthy was a Final Four most outstanding player.
