Kinda funny how we’re pointed toward a very 2023-Chiefs thing with the Royals: more likely than not, we’ll go into the last week of the season locked into the 2nd or 3rd WC spot.

Which isn’t optimal!

But it would mean we can line up the pitching exactly how we want it (and exactly as rested as we want it).

I don't think we can at all compare these Royals to the 2023 Chiefs except that, likely, both will have gotten a wild card spot.

Balls and strikes calls made a huge difference last night. Soto striking out might have changed the game. Singer got stung on multiple bad calls and had to leave early because of high pitch count. Really could use the auto zone. Grooving pitches is what caused the run out last night. Yankees were just basically sleep-walking on the field. For all their gifts, maybe too comfortable to win it all.

Alright!!!! Let’s go boys! Looking better than when I left last week! (Last night excluded).

Witt is due to pop out of his slump. The rest of the offensive should respond in kind…I hope.

All I’m saying is that sometimes there is good that can come of KNOWING you’re not getting the spot you’d like to have, so that you have the opportunity of planning for the spot you will have.

If we end up in the 2 WC….who we want to face…the O’s or Yankees?

O’s, absolutely. As we saw last night, the Royals’ pen is just too thin to have much confidence in surviving wherever in innings 6-9 you’ll have to deal with Soto/Judge.

Would it matter if we jump to 1 WC? Most likely same choice in opponent.

I couldn’t comment yet per my own rule last night then forgot….lets not miss the lead off walk in 7th negated by Isbel getting picked off by A LOT.

Q starting to get it. Scratching out runs. Throwing lots more fastballs tonight. Yanks waiting on sliders.

But Schreiber scares me. There is that pulling effective relievers problem.

Come on Royals, take tonight and then your schedule opens up a bit.

3 of 5 teams under .500.

Gold glove 1B. Man. Really great game by KC. Hard to win in Extra Innings in NYC.
