I thought we were done with that shit after this fiasco. If you want to put Kelce in the wildcat at the one yard line, fine. But that call last night was just dumb cockiness. Why take the ball out of Mahomes hands ever when you need someone to make a play?

Chiefs release Josh Gordon.
Pretty underwhelming.

Signing him back to the practice squad. Opening up a spot for a d-tackle coming off IR.

How do you guys and girls feel about Poles being in Chicago for an interview during the week of the AFC Championship game?
My feeling is that NFL teams shouldn't be interviewing candidates who are employed by other teams that are still playing football - and teams who are still playing football shouldn't be allowing their personnel to be interviewed while they are still playing football.

I think I feel bad for Poles if he doesn’t get offered the Minnesota job and has to settle for the Chicago mess.

But, he’s a front office guy. I think the chiefs can handle prepping for Burrow and Chase without him for an afternoon.

As for coaches that are interviewing right now, I’m completely fine with it. The organizations constantly make cold moves and call it “just business,” the employees should rightfully do the same. You’re a bad place and head coach to work for if you’re not supporting your coordinators getting head coach jobs.

Front office guys are fine to get interviewed. It's the coaches that bug me a bit. They need to push all hiring back to after the Super Bowl. There's really not THAT much of an advantage to rush hiring. You're not recruiting. You have 2+ months to prepare for a draft.

I don't think you should be allowed to interview coaches who are still working.
So teams take the 'risk' to wait while the season finishes but interview some other candidates ahead of time.

I feel there are many things that are more attractive about the Vikings job than the Bears job but I'm not sure I would consider it "settling" to be the Bears GM. Clearly there are a shitload of people who want the job.
I agree that the Chiefs can handle not having Poles around but where do they draw the line? Of course coaches have SOME "free time" but I'm not too sure I would be happy that Bieniemy was being interviewed two days before a huge game.

Wouldn't be thrilled as a fan, although there's no way to know if it has any effect. But, if I'm Bieniemy's brother or cousin and have seen him endure the coaching carousel bullshit he's been through, I'm hoping he does whatever is within the rules to get himself a promotion. As I would if it were in any other profession. Of course, take care of your current responsibilities--and they do, because if they weren't that kind of person, they wouldn't be in that position to begin with.

I'm not sure I'm hearing Bieniemy as a current favorite for any spot yet.
I know he interviewed at Denver.
Seems like Daboll is the current hot name - looks like he'll be a head coach somewhere next year.

Daboll is so bad. His offenses have been atrocious outside of these last few years with Allen. Who has proven to be incredible.

I fully expect the Saints will be holding multiple interviews with Bieniemy in the days leading up to the Super Bowl.

That is pretty good audio. Shows it is a team game. Wasn't Kelce a qb at one time in his career? Film study helps the good athletes become great players.

Nice job Chiefs fans! Classy gesture!
Sure there are some knuckleheads but overall, I have found the majority of Chiefs (and KU) fans I have met to be morally outstanding people.

What I took from it is that the Kansas City Chiefs, despite being 13 seconds away from their season ending, trust their players enough and have given them enough freedom and coaching that players are allowed to have this level of input into the plays that are run. I have to believe that Reid and Bienemy have taught them how to analyze what is happening out there and have coached into every play the ability of a player to make adjustments based on what they are experiencing. And they have practiced how to communicate both before plays and during plays so that they have the best chance to succeed.

No wonder players seem to love playing in this system right now (except Leveon Bell). What a great opportunity for players to feel truly invested in their success.
