Article titled "republicans admit they acquitted out of fear".....yet no republicans statements within the article saying that? Just a Democrat speaking for others. Such a weird way of reporting.
It's an Opinion piece.

Good Lord.
Being Illi's fact checker has to be exhausting, but rewarding work.

yeah cuz in an opinion piece about fear, a republican operating out of fear would just come out and make a statement about operating out of fear.

It’s almost like republicans are aware of the consequences from party and president, so they wouldn’t say anything out of...what’s the word I’m looking for?

But why post an opinion piece? If illy posted an opinion piece from the opposite point of view it would also mean nothing, but i will bet none here would rush to his defense. Most would be dragging him over the coals for posting something from the "conservative media" that was nothing but someone's opinion.

Illy doesnt have private communications with senators; Senator Brown does.

And the vast majority of conservative media outlets are filled with such opinion pieces, with no one here dragging them over the coals.

Is anyone dragging the current Newt Gingrich opinion piece on FoxNews about how Nancy Pelosi should be kicked out of office for her "petty, childish behavior"? We cant remove a President from office for breaking the law but we can remove the Speaker of the House from office for being petty?!? Seems reasonable.

We have a whole thread dedicated to dragging a conservative news outlet over the coals.

The opinion piece is relevant because most here agree with it, thats all.

It's relevant because it's true. Watch the smear campaign about Romney for turning his back on Fearless Leader and you'll see exactly why Republican Senators are so intimidated by Trump.

Thats youre opinion.

You do understand that Mittens is a big part of the reason we have Trump in the first place, right?

Of course that's what we are doing here. But if your opinion is that republican senators aren't intimidated, "scared" of Trump, that's definitely a reason for anyone paying attention to roll their eyes*.

Nobody is fucking scared of Trump.

Everybody is -- rightfully -- scared of Trump's voters.

This isn't complicated.

Its the easy excuse. Its the easy excuse for democrats in particular. It gives a reason and explains away why someone might disagree with them. "No one would ever think (insert thought or stance here), see, even these Republicans agree with me their just scared and cant say it".

Its a chickenshit excuse and noone in American politics is scared of another politician. Fear is never a reason to do something you disagree with, its an excuse and a goddamn bad one.

^^^

Finally, a plausible explanation for why Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, and Ted Cruz, among others, have changed their minds, and no longer criticize Trump. To wit:

"Lyin' Ted Cruz no longer says Trump is a "pathological liar", and "utterly amoral".

Lindsey Graham no longer says Trump is "unfit for office".

"Little", "weak" Marco Rubio no longer says Trump is a "con artist".

But, it's not because they "fear" the damage that Trump could do to their political careers, it's because they've truly had a change of heart, based on Trump's behavior in office. Got it.

Don't know why I didn't think of that.
