You boys and girls see LeBron is "giving up" 23 to AD?
In other words, ONCE AGAIN he is changing his jersey number to sell more jerseys.
Sorry for my cynicism. Can't help myself.

Bye bye Jimmy.

Also, how many times can you say Ultimately in the same paragraph?

Why do the warriors want another PG?

So LeBron is down to Kawhi, yeah?

If they do get Kawhi would it be the best "Big 3" in the history of the NBA?

That would be a very good 'big 3'.
They'd have a shell of a team around them though.

Meanwhile, the Knicks sign some scrubs in the aftermath.
JJ Reddick goes off to a youthful, exciting New Orleans squad.
Butler looks to be off to Miami but 76ers retain Harris for a lotta money and get underrated Al Horford. 6ers have an interesting cast now.

Switch Steph to the 2 while Klay recuperates.

I'd rather have kept Butler, and losing Reddick is big. Unless somehow Simmons shows up in the fall having miraculously acquired a jump shot of any consequence.

They replace Butler though, in a sense, with Josh Richardson, who is a very good defender.
He's not Butler but I think he can fill that spot defensively.
But yes, shooting is going to be an issue.

So big paydays for our dudes Kelly and Marcus should be coming in the next day or 2.

Probably inspired by Self's 2 PG system. Curry was going to take a beating as the only dude with the ball in his hands all the time. Russell alleviates that and gives him a shot at surviving until Thompson gets back.

They needed offense.
Russell provides that.

Lakers rumblings of Iguodala (after Memphis buyout), Seth Curry and Danny Green. Better than scrubs.

This is exactly the sort of close-to-washed (Iguodala; Green) and/or high-profile-but-untalented (Curry) roster I'd expect to be assembled.

Those guys are decent pieces if you can somehow pair them with Kawhii to be honest.
I think the Lakers should have pressed hard for Reddick.

But, as always seems to be the case with GM Bron, there's just no thought put into planning for 2-3 years out. I disagree with the notion that a Bron/AD/Kawhi/flotsam/jetsam team is a prohibitive 2019-20 favorite. And if they don't manage to capitalize next year, things don't look to get any easier as Durant and Thompson come back online, Jo and Giannis enter their primes and the Pelicans (and perhaps Mavericks, Nuggets and Jazz) grow into real threats in the West.

It's just dumb, shortsighted, cronyism and path-of-least-resistance GMing.

Utah quietly have assembled a pretty scary starting 5.

Conley
Mitchell

Can/will both these two play at the same time?
Ingles
Bogdanovic

Gobert

Wait, did I just hear that Lebron and AD wanted to sit in on the pitch to Kawhi but Kawhi didn’t go for it, instead requesting to meet with an actual GM?
