Dotson is amazing. He just had a bad game yesterday. Let's not read into it.

this is going to be a crazy fun season and tournament. There are probably 10 teams now that would project to be 1 seeds, and another 10 project to be 2 seeds. Lots of upsets to come...

In games vs. the 3 best teams we have played (Duke, Dayton and Nova) Dotson has 15 turnovers. If you extend it out to tourney teams and include Colorado and ETSU (currently 1st in their conf) then he has 22 turnovers in those 5 games.

But I guess we can just ignore that. Dotson is excellent at many things but this team, this year, with Dotson in his sophomore season will not reach it's potential unless he gets that problem cleaned up. I certainly hope he can and definitely believe he can.

Yeah, he's got to work on his game against good competition. He'll have plenty of chances on the road to strengthen his game. Such a shame that this will be his last year because he's so quick and fun to watch.

We all know he's leaving after this year, right? No one seriously believes that he is gonna come back and work on all the things he needs to get better at, do they?

Self was right, too many good players leaving too early has watered down the sport this year.

How much does he get paid to come back and work on all the things he needs to get better at?

How long until the next game so this thread can die?

If KU can stop inert white guy threes, they will beat Villanova in the Final Four. 6-12 points. And that translates to having a healthy Garrett. But, on to a new thread , , ,

20 points, 53% shooting, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals also over those 5 games. I'm not saying he has been perfect, but if your biggest complaint is the ONLY legit ball handler averaging 4 turnovers a game against the best teams, I would take that considering all the good that comes with that. Not to mention 2 of the games you mentioned he had 3 turnovers. It's not like he's going out there and throwing the ball in the stands all the time and turning it over 10 times.

In the grand scheme of things, Dotson's turnovers aren't really that close to top of the my list of things that could cause this team to lose.

Really? Because they seem to me to be one of the biggest negative drivers of the games that we have lost so far this season.

By no means am I saying he sucks (which is how any negative critique of any past or present KU player seems to be received here). I just see it and Dok's inability to be played down the stretch of tight games to be the biggest obstacles in their journey towards reaching their ceiling. In this relatively down year in college hoops, that ceiling is a national title. They just cant have their leading scorer, who is also their primary ball handler, gagging it up so often. We arent good enough at three point shooting to hide that flaw if it happens.

I am a firm believer that a team takes on the characteristics of their leader and if their leader is turnover prone under pressure then the entire team will be turnover prone. They are especially contagious.

Tyshaun was a turnover machine for half his senior season and then he was a complete stud. I'm not to worried about Dotson.

This is what I mean. He's turning it over at a lower rate than guys like Cassius Winston, Tre Jones, Ashton Hagans, and Ty Haliburton (who is supposed to be the best in the country at protecting the ball). Would you say those guys have turnover issues?

Roughly 75 possessions a game. Assume he handles the ball for 70 of them. For being the only ball handler, playing the amount of minutes he plays, the number of possessions in a game, is 4 times really "gagging it up so often"?

Dotson will be fine.

There, saved you a whole lot of typing.
After 2coach argues the same thing 27 more times you can just grab this quote and not have to re-prove your very valid and reasonable point every time.

Three of those 4 guys are on pace to lead their team to the NIT if they dont get their act together so maybe not the best examples...

You guys say that all the KU problems "will be fine" at this time of year every year. When was the last time you were actually right, 2008?

Oh, I forgot "so long as we dont run into a hot shooting white guy". Yeah, that's what gets us...

We lose the game right before Christmas a good portion. Those of us that are paying attention saw that loss coming a mile away.

You should try paying attention some time.

It’s unrealistic to demand that the children be at their peak best every time they take the floor.

Are you at your peak best everyday?
