I went without shaving for 3 or 4 days this week. Was gonna grow a beard, WTH, right? Couldn't take it.

I'm on 10 days w/o shaving and it's driving me crazy, along with my shaggy hair. I oiled my Remington clippers, got the guards out, I'm about ready to do some damage...

What's with all the beards these days? I went out to a club to see a friends band play a few months ago and I think I was one of maybe 5 people in the place that didnt have a beard. I could smell the greasy beard grooming products there were so many double chin-hiding beards around. They just look so dirty and itchy. I cant get into that as a project at all.

Do beards make masks less effective?

Yes, the male nurses with beards have to wear extra protection or shave.

When you have a weak chin or multiple chins, there's not much else you can do besides grow one.

I definitely don't have a Ben Affleck chin, but I did wear head gear when I was younger. At one time I considered a chin augmentation, but never went thru with it. Still think about it sometimes....

Big time when I was a teenager. Bad overbite, narrower upper bite, buck teeth, you name it. I was in braces from age 13-16, had to wear a spacer or expander on my front teeth to widen my bite, plus night gear to pull my jaw forward. It was horrible, but I still wear my retainer to this day and brush and floss daily.
Weird because both my younger and older brothers never needed braces or anything.

An ex of mine opted for the operation to align her jaws in 1995. $25,000 and a couple of painful months later she has a perfect jawline.

Good for her. Most insurance companies won't cover that now. My 13 year old nephew is going through the same thing that I went through 30 years ago, I tell him it will all be worth it in the end.
Maybe because I'm bored or had a couple beers, but I remember all the shit I went thru back then. Now braces are normal, but in the mid-80's, it seemed like I was the only one in Junior High. I remember my football coach before practice telling everyone to strap up their chin straps and hit the field. Then he yelled at me, "Kevin, no need, since you don't have a chin". I remember my teammates laughing and I never played football again.
I wrote a letter to him 10 or so years ago and stated he was the reason I never played football again. He called me and cried and told me how sorry he was. We now talk or txt a few times a month. Crazy how life turns out.

Wow. That's a pretty incredible story. I'm guessing 90 percent of this board would like to do something similar to someone who was mean to them in/around junior high.
At my 20 year high school reunion, one girl I knew went table-to-table and aggressively called out anyone who made fun of her in front of their spouse/significant other. She was heavy in high school and slimmed down quite a bit.

Yeah, it's all good now. Maybe I'm just going thru a funk from this COVID-19 stay at home quarantine, too much time to "think".
I don't dwell on it and it was a long time ago. I was a pretty gangly kid, very skinny, tall, and for over 3 years had some sort of metal in my mouth. Went thru quite a bit of depression, but my parents recognized it and got me help.
By high school i was completely different. Put on muscle and weight, played high school basketball and baseball. The year between my junior and senior year, a lot of people were amazed how much I had changed. I spent that summer swimming and lifting weights and probably put on 20 lbs of muscle mass.

I don't know what the hell I did, but my lower back is jacked up and painful right now. Was going to do yardwork, but there's no way.
