Re: NFL Regular Season
I mean, Lawrence is incredible. He would have been #2 last year, easily.
Ohio State has a really bad track record with QBs transitioning to the NFL. Like really bad.
North Dakota St kid needs to improve his passing a ton. He's a very run-based guy. Think Josh Allen but not as advanced passing.
Trask is the best QB to come out of Florida in a long damn time. The most pure pocket passer of the QB group outside of Lawrence. Takes care of the ball big time, high completion percentage and a really good TD/INT ratio. I would take him over Fields or the Lance from NDSU.

Re: NFL Regular Season
Is anyone nervous that Lawrence has been surrounded by ELITE level talent during his entire time at Clemson and what will happen when he joins a team like the Jets or Jags that don't.

Re: NFL Regular Season
I dunno. Has Clemson produced elite NFL talent on offense since Watson and Hopkins left? Not really..
I get what you're saying, but it's not like Clemson is pumping out 1st rounder after 1st rounder on offense every year. The defensive guys are the biggest commodities. Last 3 draft, the highest Clemson Tiger took in the draft on offense was this past year with Tee Higgins going in the 3rd round to Cincy.
I think that proves how good Lawrence is. He's doing it with guys that are not highly regarded in the NFL scouts eyes.

Re: NFL Regular Season
Even if Lawrence plays for the Jets, every single one of his teammates will be an NFL player.
Re: NFL Regular Season
Is bet money the Lawrence is a bust in the NFL. The track record for QB’s who played for Top 5-10 college teams is not great. Winning every game in college by 35+ points doesn’t really prepare you for the struggles that will come in the NFL.
There are some exceptions but the best QB’s didn’t play for premier college teams
Brady (exception but also 6th round pick)
Mahomes
Brees
Wilson
Big Ben
Rodgers
Prescott
Ryan
Allen
Rivers

They all won a ton of games, though, at the college level. Exception might be Josh Allen.
What NFL QB's were big losers in college? Cutler automatically comes to mind.

Re: NFL Regular Season
I just looked up Tannehill and the only season he was a full-time QB and not a WR was his senior year where he went 7-6 and finished 7th in Big 12.
Not great but was able to muster a 61-7 win against Turner Gill.

Re: NFL Regular Season
Yes
TT went 1-6 in games Mahomes played in.
TT went 1-2 in games he started
TT went 0-1 in games he played significant minutes in but didn’t play all the snaps
Happy now?

Re: NFL Regular Season
Has to be longest non-TD run by QB in NFL history?

Re: NFL Regular Season
Fastest QB has run since 2018. Faster than Lamar and others.

Seems so.
The longest non scoring play by any position belongs to Hap Moran, who had a 91-yard run but didn't score in 1930.
Barry Sanders has 2 in the top 5 - with an 85 yard run and 84 yard run.
In 2010, Jamal Charles had an 80 yard run and didn't score.

I remember that. One of the few good plays we got out of him.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:37 amBono is still in the middle of this run 25 years later.

Re: NFL Regular Season
I can't believe he lost balance and fell without being touched.
Also, they barfed up that 4th quarter lead and lost.
