I'm beginning to question sanity of this board.
Danny Manning, Wayne Simien...
I don't get it.

The sports guy that would make sense is a retired Bill Self, but even that's not perfect.

It's not just the board that is insane. Danny himself has said he's interested.
Neither guy (Danny or Wayne) would be in my top 25 choices off the top of my head.
But..... Obviously both guys are outstanding "ambassadors".
Not that being an "ambassador" means you would make a good AD.
If we are throwing names out there, I would love if David Booth was given some meaningful role.

I mean, shit I'm interested if someone asks. The worst they would say is no.

I just hope that panel doesn't let their Crimson and Blue glasses blind their better judgement aka making D-Man the AD.
Dub, is a man of the cloth being both the mens basketball and football chaplain. He is involved with Athletics exactly the way he wants to be.

Hey - I was first to throw my hat in the ring.
Why not reach out to Girod and tell him to hire ALL crimson.com members collectively? Each one of us plays a role in being the AD.
Serious side-note, I have to assume Girod is going to speak with Self in regards to if he (Self) will have any input.
For all we know, the new hire may make a difference in his (Self's) future.

I call the golf trips..... my official role as AD is golfing!

Lots of combo hire potential. Buffalo, Nevada, Tulane and whatnot. Some assistant ADs thrown out too from top athletic departments.

If you’re campaigning for it, it means you haven’t been contacted. And if you haven’t been contacted yet, that’s bad news for you.

Make of this as you will.
Manning said he “has had people reach out to me but not anything where I’m speaking with the chancellor, none of that. I have received calls about (his) interest.”
