They've definitely picked up the numbers being evacuated daily....but also shows how poorly prepared they were a week or 2 ago when those numbers were MUCH lower.

And the fact the Taliban went back on their word that they'd let Afghans leave who wanted to leave and we caved to that is pretty disappointing.

A Senior US official told CNN that many deserving Afghans who helped/supported us are going to be left behind.

Women are being told not to go to work because Taliban soldiers may (will) beat (or kill) them.

But let's keep pretending it's going "about as good as it could have". It's not. Not even close.

trump and the republicans set this flaming dog turd on the front porch for Biden to step as he walked in the door. Other than Fox News addicts, the rest of the US voters won't care about this in 6 months. The R's were hoping it would drag on for at least a couple of years, but it will only play with the rubes soon.

Biden needs to declare a tax cut just for the bottom 90% of tax payers in US now, and call it the Afghan Peace Dividend Tax Cut. Cut taxes by the amount we would spend annually in the foreign boondoggle. It would be a big hit.

LOL

GO TEAM!

It's astonishing the changes in attitudes based on which team is in charge.

"astonishing'?
Of course attitudes change based on which team is in charge. As they should.

lump me in with the group that does not care one drop what happens to that $#1thole country once we finally get out of there. 20 years. thousands of lives lost. billions of dollars spent.

let some other country prop them up in our place................no takers. surprising.

I want(ed) us to keep our word to those people who are going to be hung or beheaded if(when) we leave them there. We didn't need to invade because we were already there. Instead of getting these people out for the last 3-6months we waited until the 11th hour. And now many are stranded with no way to get safely to the airport. We were more worried about optics.

We have an administration downplaying or downright lying about certain things over the last few weeks.

Biden said we had every contingency covered. That was a lie. His own intelligence community has contradicted his press conference ramblings numerous times this week and in the weeks prior. He's downplayed, mislead, and lied.

And here? Silence.

Remember when a good portion of the board had a meltdown about us killing Qasem Soleimani? I do....but for this? No doom and gloom. No real outrage. It's all good because bygolly old uncle joe is doing "about as good" as he could have. It's mostly trumps fault.

Sorry. It's astonishing. And further evidence that what the right did the last 4 years were exactly what the dems are going to do for these 4 years.

So attitudes don't change so much when the team in charge changes.

But if you want to stay out of endless wars, then tactics should change. Peace dividend tax cuts, think about it. As far as ROI, it makes more sense than tax cuts for the wealthy to stimulate the economy.

Trump lit the fuse on this bomb.
It was going to explode, and not on his watch.

That isn't what I said at all.

Don't get me wrong, I think it was a beautiful move. So much so that I believe it was probably Miller's idea.
No way Trump was cunning enough for it.

I was gonna FYP by changing “Trump” to “W and Dick,” but let’s break it all down:

W and Dick lit the fuse

Kenyan Mooslim kept throwing more fuel on the pile when he shoulda been the one to stick to progressive ideals and dial it back (but the thing about Kenyan mooslims is they can’t impose sharia law without escalating fights with afghan mooslims who wanna impose sharia law first…checkers not chess)

Trump didn’t light the fuse so much as leave the time bomb on Joe’s doorstep and run

And Joe hasn’t done great but he also is the one who had to get the time bomb off his porch
