I agree.
I'm also concerned with the health of the sport. And the health of the sport is not served by an incentive structure that discourages good teams from playing cool non-con games, and encourages good teams to play Directional Tech A&M 20 times between 11/1 and 12/31.
KU didn't get hosed because of their non-con. They got hosed because they had losses of 14, 15, 16, 20 and 23.
Except, KU
did get hosed by its schedule (because, in some fucked-up way, the committee dude out and out SAID that 15-2 Q1/2 is better than 21-7).
It's a better winning %. I guess that is their reasoning.

Q2 only from here on out.
Your UAB's, Kent State's, Utah Valley's instead of Duke's, Indiana's and Tennessee's.

it’s really pretty crazy how many headlines allude to KU’s situation

Just curious: when was the last time we advanced to the FF from KC since the tournament expanded? Won NC in KC in 1988. I know we beat Sparty in 1986 (OT, controversial clock operator). But other than that KC has not been that kind to us. Some painful losses- UVA in 1995, Oregon in 2017…..
I’m with pdub…..maybe we’re better off out west? I’m not saying that the committee didn’t screw us but all’s well that ends well?!?!

Don’t care who. If we (Dajuan) play well, nobody can beat us.
This is relevant i.e. the KC discussion.

It's not reasoning, nobody could be stupid enough to combine Q1 and Q2 and think that's fair. It's what happens when you already have an answer and need to look for a reason to justify it.

You must choose one team to root for in the tournament other than KU.
Who do you choose?
For me, this morning I decided I am a Marquette fan. That may change 10 seconds from now.

I don't root for any teams other than KU. And if KU gets eliminated I watch significantly less, some years none, of the games.

unless it’s misery…
i root for whomever is playing against the goliaths, in particular the other blue bloods
i’ve got a soft spot for Arkansas, so i’ll root for them unless/until they face KU

I hate that everything, everywhere is paid content.
Used to I could sit and read articles for 2 days before the tournament. Now every damn article is behind a paywall. The subscription model for life is going to bleed the world dry.

i get it, though, to a certain extent…those writers don’t work for free, and people just aren’t buying print media from news stands anymore
it definitely sucks tho
edit: the apple news app is pretty good, and often has stories for free that would otherwise be behind a paywall
ousie alerted me to an option that works on occasion, whereby you can select “reader mode” and back door the paywall

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't take him in to consideration when I chose Marquette. Poor choice by me.
I've changed my mind. I'll choose Furman. Although, I have always been a UCLA fan so if they make it to the Final Four I will then root for them.
Anyways.....
I kiod of like the Georgia Tech hire.
Oh, this is the madness thread. Sorry about that!
Ok, here is my contribution. Fuck Scheyer and Duke!

I don't get the dislike for Jon Scheyer. He seems pretty likeable to me. Way more than K his last decade +.

Off the top of my head reasons why people don't like him.
He played at Duke.
His HS coaches brother was the Illinois coach. Illini fans wanted him to go to Illinois.
He's a Jew.

This.
Though I’m sure a lot of writers don’t see as much money as they should.
Different bored though.
