Well that's fucking dumb. nevermind then, I'll keep my money.
You can't place bets on college teams in your own state? Or you can't place bets at all?
not on any college sports unless you do it at a casino.

Draft kings has a monopoly on app sports betting in this state...and apparently they donate/fund higher education and so the state banned them from allowing gambling on college sports. So dumb. I dont want to gamble on pro sports....I dont watch pro sports outside the NFL.

apparently it's been locked in legislation for quite some time. The tribes arr fighting it hard claiming it will cut their revenue and demanding a significant portion of any colle sports profits if allowed.

I don’t gamble any real money ever but last night with my bonuses stack out on date night I can currently see why.

Live bet swings that would loose it all…but drunk ass somehow won. Last night was date night, tvs on at the bars we stopped by.

“Angry” I lost 5 dollars on KU instead of winning 25 bc KJ couldn’t hit a FT I doubled down on Michigan -9.5 live for 10. Lost that. By 1 again. Still “angry” so bet entire bankroll on USC money line when they were down in first half. Swings big in my favor, easily am way over the top on the night, cash out at when they are up what I think must have been double digits. Then randomly bet 5 ( bc drunk me still wants to win that initial 5 dollar bet ) on Colorado -2 at +300. Go to bed. Guess they won in OT.

Soberish now sees a much bigger bank roll but also sees the danger of this thing. Don’t ever bet real money folks.

Speaking of USC....
BOTH USCs losing at home cost me some money yesterday. GUTTERED!

South Carolina -2 and lost by 1
Souther California +2.5 and lost by 3.
P.S. Bronny James is a FRAUD.

I looked up my lifetime performance on DK and am up significantly - like 400% significantly. But I am CERTAIN that would not be the case if sports betting was legal in Missouri, where I live. I would chase losses and do dumb shit with live bets - I know this, from when I'm out in Kansas or traveling in places where that's an option.

You are also describing why I do not really enjoy betting on things I care about - if KU looses to UCF or the Chiefs loose to the Raiders, I don't enjoy being EXTRA bitter. I like, a lot more, betting on games that I don't care about, but that are just sort of on in the background anyway.

Here's one I'm a bit confused by.

I bet $5 on Scottie Scheffler to be Top 10 after the first round of last weekend's PGA tournament. He finished in a many-way tie for 10th for the round, so I "won" $2.65 (and lost $2.35) on DK's "Dead Heat" rules.

Today, I got a $2.35 cash credit with an email explanation that, "Since the bet(s) you placed on golf over the weekend resulted in a dead heat reduction and the amount you won was less than your wager, we are crediting you with the difference."

So, of course I understand the math here. And absolutely I understand the notion of loss-leaders.

But I ALSO know there is no such thing as a free lunch.

So what's happening here? Is it simply a loss-leader/loyalty-inducer? Or is there something funky that they actually had to make right?

I was traveling pretty much all of last week in places where gambling ain't legal, and where I'd have lots of hotel time for mindless watching of stuff (which is greatly improved by action).

So my pickings were slim, as far as what I could bet on on Wednesday (on a layover in a legal state), that would take place Thursday-Friday.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

It’s worked four times for me so far and will again if Butler covers 12.5 ( alt from 9.5 ).
Took Wiscy 7.5 on DKs boost.
Six in a row on these.
Hit again with Nevada.
Didn’t need to alt line to 9.
I think I’m 10 of 12 with these 50 percent single game college boosts.

I got a DK First Three promo (NBA) today, that is double the usual value. Bonus bet calculated as $2 per 3FG. $50 minimum bet on First Three.

By my math, two games today (Bucks/Hornets and Warriors/Knicks) are between teams that average a combined 28 3FG (and the Warriors' season stats don't have a lot of Klay, who is back). And, the lowest odds for the initial bet are on Steph.

I do not generally like putting $50 out there, but it seems here like the risk is worth it; the break-even point (25 3FG) appears to be comfortably (for me) below the midpoint, without even thinking about the EV of the initial bet itself.

Of course, then I'm left with a bonus bet that is of a higher amount than I like putting out there.

I could see a lot of people putting 50 bucks down on Steph to hit the first 3.

The issue with bonus bets ( they are still good since they are free/bonus ) is that you don't get that wager back...so it's basically insurance to TRY and get your losses back.

If I hit on a standard +100 bet with 50, I get 100 bucks.
If I hit on a bonus +100 bet with 50, I get 50 bucks.
