Hoping you are right. I like the two draftees, but wonder if the drama and 3D chess was necessary

They could had those 2 ( or Legette / Adonai ) AND TJ Tampa.

That was my take too. And the Chiefs still need a possession receiver not named Kelce to help him.

Bears selected OT Kiran Amegadjie (I am willing to bet 75% of Bears fans can't pronounce his last name and 95% can't spell it - without looking at it) with the 75th pick.
Fills a need. I suppose. He's a local kid. Has a very good reputation on and off the field. There has been a theme with their first 3 picks and it's one thing I don't like about them. They don't have a nastiness. Sort of Soft spoken guys, who I hope are not soft on the field.

I would have preferred they took an Edge in the 3rd round - such as Isaac or Hunt.
I fully expect them to take an Edge (Kamara or Cole?) with the 122nd pick.
They don't take an Edge, I'm predicting they bring back Ngakoue at about 1/4 of what they paid him last season or they sign massive disappointment/underachiever Shaq Lawson for not much more than the league minimum. I MIGHT be ok with that. Or.... They wait and see who gets released/cut and go from there. I think they need to get someone decent and then heck, most all the pieces will be in place. Kudos to the front office!

I have a feeling there will be 17 games this season of me switching off between my saying JUNK! or SUPER BOWL! and not much in-between.

Prediction - They have substantial injures and finish with a 9-8 record. Miss the playoffs by a game. JUNK!

The ONE fucking time they don't trade up...TJ Tampa was right there.
Wiley good value but come on dudes - CB to pair with McDuffie - trade up.

Well Gutter, your bears punted on that 122nd pick…but got your edge rusher at 144. And a Jayhawk!

Needed a P.
Laughed at this.

Happy to get a Jayhawk - and my hope is he will be a nice NFL player - with the right coaching.
Hopefully for him he sticks on the team. Or goes to the Chiefs. ;)

Rookies are likely to throw a lot of picks, so he’s prolly right about the punting.

Doubtful he makes the 53 man roster.

He would do well to practice hard every day and turn on his jets. He'll make a roster with that arm and speed. He is a valuable piece if teams think out of the box. Think San Francisco in 2022.

First sentence - Yes.
Second sentence - Doubtful, but I hope for his sake is true.
Third sentence - Every guy on an NFL roster is valuable. I agree he brings multiple skill sets but does he bring enough to make a team "find" a roster spot for him?
Fourth sentence - Are you referring to Debo? Kind of like Patterson was for the Falcons. I'm not seeing Bean in the same role/s but hey, like I said, I hope for his sake he sticks on a team and sees some action.

Bears WR group massively improved.
Another WR group that got way better? Panthers.

Diontae, Legette, Thielen, Mingo ( 2nd year ).
Plus they drafted likely the best RB in the class.
Bryce Young won't have an excuse this season.

"ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Vikings offered the 11th and 23rd overall picks in the 2024 draft along with a 2025 first round pick in exchange for pick No. 3."

If I'm the Pats I might take this and get McCarthy and Brian Thomas Jr.
Then have another 1st for next year.*

*edit update:
Vikings’ offer was the No. 11 and No. 23 overall picks and their 2025 first-round pick, for the No. 3 pick and two mid-round picks.

OK, Vikings, you can fuck off with your two-mid round picks.
You want Maye, let's make it simple, we want 3 1sts...for just Maye.

Watching the Bears and Lions try to overcome decades of organizational stink is fascinating, like watching a baby giraffe learn how to walk.

While no doubt the Bears have had a long history of stink, they had many seasons in the last few decades in which I feel they were far from stink.
Going back to the 80s, they were damn good for about a 5-6 year stretch.
90s, they pretty much sucked but 4 of those seasons they had a winning record. 90, 91, 94, and 95.
After that, basically only 2001, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2018 I would say they had a better than average season.

Overall, I have to figure the Lions have been worse. Probably much worse.

2025 Bears = SUPER BOWL!
Or JUNK!

I thought the Bears would be good last season.
I’m double dipping in that well for this season.
