add to that, that the projected cost has ballooned from something like $400m to nearly $750m, if memory servesShirley wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 12:32 pmGetting up and down Little Cottonwood has sucked for decades, so I can understand them wanting to try to get people to park at the base and use another means to get up. But using a statewide tax to pay for it seems a lot to ask, when as you pointed out, only a small % of mostly above average income people will benefit from it.KUTradition wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 12:24 pmLittle Cottonwood Canyon, and that’s it
the proposal would make it the largest/longest/biggest free-standing gondola in the world
legislators and DoT officials apparently visited one in Europe and were bowled over
not surprising, the owners of Alta and Snowbird (Snowbird in particular), are the major backers. the owner of Snowbird just so happened to buy up one of the last remaining chunks of undeveloped land at the mouth of the canyon, which is exactly where the base station of gondola would have to be
edit:
it’s all so silly. “they” think that the gondola will reduce auto traffic and relieve congestion…why? it seems much more likely that, barring formal restrictions on autos in the canyon (which isn’t on the board as i’m aware), the result will just be more people in the canyon

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Don't think it possible that all WR's are gone. We got Sneed in the 4th round. I think everything depends on what we finish with in free agency. Could get Howard or maybe Michael Thomas cheap.
The thing with the OT's is most likely getting drafted at 24,25,28,30,31. So we want one we move up early 20's we get a good one. The other thing in the back of my brain is TE Bowers. He seems to be dropping and man I would trade up to snag him in a second. Solve two issues with that one.

So as a Titans fan, what should I expect from Sneed?
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Stud.
Set it and forget it.
Lockdown.
Possible future knee problems.
Somewhat hoping that’s the case.

Bowers would be a dream scenario for KC in my opinion. Just don't know if they can get up high enough to get him. If NFL GMs are dumb enough to let KC get hold of him then they should all be fired.hartjack8 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 5:08 pmDon't think it possible that all WR's are gone. Rumors swirling around OBJ.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
I'm also...not sure we need it anymore. Assuming we spend a round 1-3 pick there, I'm actually...ok with what we've got. And, can't believe I'm saying this out loud, I cannot rule out that Moore might actually find something.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Yes, i'm fine with no more FA WR's if we address in the draft ( like we should ).
But I'm still wondering what the extra 19 mill will be spent on from Sneed?
Why restructure Mahomes AND trade Sneed if you aren't going to make some acquisitions?
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
It would be smart to take care of Bolton and Smith OR Humphrey now (so that you don't need to do TWO of those next offseason).pdub wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 9:52 amYes, i'm fine with no more FA WR's if we address in the draft ( like we should ).

I guess that's true.
Maybe that's the reason.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Why is it smart to pay a guy millions more this season than you already have him under contract for? Humphrey gets what $4.8 million this year? Why would you redo his contract and pay him $13+ million this year (he's gonna get #1 C in the NFL money) when you don't have to?jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 10:10 amIt would be smart to take care of Bolton and Smith OR Humphrey now (so that you don't need to do TWO of those next offseason).
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
To absorb some of the cap hit for the bonus component of his eventual extension now.twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 12:46 pmWhy is it smart to pay a guy millions more this season than you already have him under contract for? Edit to add - and, simply, so that you have the opportunity to manage the extensions on your terms, as opposed to again finding yourself in a position where the player has all the leverage in a very complicated window.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Correct.
Though keeping them to the end of their rookie contacts is also not a bad move.
It’s possible they just don’t spend the cap created and just roll it over to next year ( basically deciding when to pay Patrick ) and simply did that shift so they could sign Hollywood when they did.

Would signing with the Chiefs make a bakers dozen for OBJ?

I don't think you can roll unused cap forward - I think you are operating inefficiently if you're not using all of the cap except whatever portion you might want to keep dry for later signings or even trades.pdub wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:14 pm Correct.

So they'll do something with it, even if it's just a "new" deal for Kelce or something that absorbs some pain this year (so that, if you really are looking at his last star season coming up, this is also the last season you're paying star money).

"NFL teams are allowed to roll over any unused cap space from one season to the next. Clubs must tell the league they plan to roll over cap space by 4 p.m. ET on the day after their regular-season finale."
