I am hearing the Harris campaign would have been great if it had been 2004. That sounds like a good assessment. Overall, the Democrats are too nice. Biden played nice. Instead, he should have relentlessly attacked trumpers from day 1, though to Democrats, that would have seemed like no decorum and risked a civil war.
Are we at the point where fire has to be fought with fire?
Trump is right about one thing. He absolutely could "stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and [he] wouldn't lose any voters, OK? It's, like, incredible." He said that in January 2016, at a Christian college in Iowa. Dems can point out his flaws and blunders until the cows come home. It is like spitting in the wind.

We have lost the truth. Social media (which can literally be any one of us) rules. There are zero controls on campaign financing, and businesses/lobbies own nearly all the federal politicians. The Supreme Court lies and cheats and has been bought (what a shame), and doesn't turnover until someone dies or volunteers to leave.
The US Constitution is not the model that new countries use.

I don't think that any of us can really yet imagine a world where the United States is not the center of the world, including scientifically. And of course all of these things have economic impact: research and applied work becoming more diffuse will result in a brain drain that weakens American institutions across the public-private spectrum.

some here have suggested such a situation (a non US-centric NWO) might actually be better
maybe we’ll see

The best way to describe the way we got here:
Republicans play to win, at any cost.
Democrats play to not lose.

Republicans didn't used to run candidates who would die in jail if they didn't win. Sponsored by Russia up to their necks in dead soldiers.

“I want to thank the Nelk Boys, Adin Ross, Theo Von, Bussin’ With the Boys, and last but not least, the mighty and powerful Joe Rogan.”
Adin Ross’s streams have been a safe place for sexism and general, lowbrow bigotry for some time now. The 24-year-old has been banned from Twitch eight separate times for using a homophobic slur and for “hateful conduct.” Earlier this year, Trump joined Ross’s livestream, per Barron Trump’s suggestion, and was gifted a Rolex live on stream. The Nelk Boys have similarly used their podcast to platform right-wing demagogues like Tucker Carlson to young men. Theo Von and Bussin’ With the Boys are slightly tamer versions of these acts. And the infamous Joe Rogan is the forefather of them all...
good job, ‘murica

Really fine work by the Russians. While they got their ass kicked in Ukraine (700K dead and wounded), they never lost their ability to exploit information war weaknesses. Biden did himself no credit not shutting down the pipeline. They paid off folks, sent bomb threats and basically flooded the zone like their acolyte Bannon suggested.

For decades, the rest of the world has viewed Americans as stupid and selfish. We proved them right. The kicker is that we won't even get the vast majority of things that we were selfishly in pursuit of.

Imagine thinking it is a
good thing that we've lost the high ground on the world stage, most likely for (at least) the rest of the lives of everyone who voted.

I think you have no idea how much of your 401k is attributable to the US-centric world order that you have voted to end.
