Afraid every morning when I woke up. Afraid of what the headlines would say. Wondering if all of the Earth would still exist.
No, I do not want that fear again. All that gaslighting from Trump. All his blatant lies. He has gotten away with everything, knows it, and reminds us of it still.
“I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn’t lose any voters, ok? It’s, like, incredible.” — Donald Trump, who is currently the frontrunner for the Republican nomination for president, insulting the intelligence of his own supporters. from January 2016

You know what was really absurd? Melania Trump's campaign against cyberbullying (BE BEST) while being married to the biggest bully with the biggest pulpit of them all.
She really had some zingers. Plagerizing Michelle Obama and wearing a jacket about not caring while visiting children on the Mexican border come to mind.

Stolen from a respected friend who is older and wiser than me. I was a toddler during Watergate.
Judge Michael Luttig’s pronouncement in Thursday’s hearing that Donald Trump remains “a clear and present danger” to our democracy should wake up every American, especially after Trump had the gall to reiterate his lies about the election and lies about the hearing again in a rally yesterday. Judge Luttig, a conservative Christian Republican, who is renowned as one of the Republican Party’s most revered judges, needs to be listened to by all Americans, but especially by Republicans. Do you trust the words of a man who lies incessantly or a person of the highest ethical character? This should not even be a contest. Yet it is. And this is one of the greatest differences between these times and 50 years ago at the time of the Watergate break in. Truth mattered then. I’m not so sure truth matters any more for millions of Americans. My hope is that just as in the Watergate hearings, when most Americans, including most Republicans, eventually accepted the truth, the same will happen now once the hearings are done, and likely criminal charges are brought. There are few values more important than truth. Without it there can be no human community or democracy. And for that reason these hearings are more about saving democracy and saving America than they are about one man’s flouting of the rule of law. It is our test to decide if truth still matters.
Re: We Lost the Battle for the Republican Party’s Soul Long Ago
The Republican Party of Texas over the weekend adopted a resolution at its state convention that rejects President Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election, further aligning the state party establishment with former President Donald Trump in pushing false election claims.
"We reject the certified results of the 2020 Presidential election, and we hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States," reads the resolution, passed by voice vote in Houston on Saturday. "We strongly urge all Republicans to work to ensure election integrity and to show up to vote in November of 2022, bring your friends and family, volunteer for your local Republicans, and overwhelm any possible fraud."
Oh and this....
"The platform also included a section calling homosexuality "an abnormal lifestyle choice" and opposing "all efforts to validate transgender identity.""
Ladies and gentlemen, the future of the nation under GOP rule is very alarming.

Given this is a slogan aimed at reducing litter on highways, I don't think it's really applicable...

You're more than welcome to start an offsetting thread to list them all out. I am certain there are some.
