As we have established, attempted quid pro quo is not quid pro quo.

And even if that was a quid pro quo, we have established that a quid pro quo is fine, so long as it's intended to help someone win an election, and that person thinks it is in our nation's best interests for him to win that election.

Obviously, it's not fine. But it's also Julian Assange.

And this: In 2018, Rohrabacher told The Intercept that he had been blocked from discussing the plan with the president because Kelly and other White House staffers were scared it would look like collusion.

If there's evidence to the contrary, one hopes Fitzgerald can and will produce it.

Everything I know about the situation is from the link I posted (and I also do not profess even passing competency with things Assange), but: the situation is interesting, the allegations coming in the context of a legal proceeding (as opposed to an allegation just in the press or something).

Yes. In a legal proceeding in which Assange is making this claim specifically to avoid extradition.

If this gets traction, it will be fun watching Assange become a hero again -- after being a hero, then a deranged rapist.
